Aliaz/Zealio-Housing: Different Leaf?
« on: Thu, 28 June 2018, 03:19:50 »
I just installed some Zealio stems inside a Aliaz housing and I'm pretty sure the tactile bump has changed and gotten quite a bit bigger, at least from what I remember how stock Zealios felt.

Unfortunately I do not have Zealio housings at hand to compare them to. If there is someone here that has both housings at hand, a direct comparison would be appreciated.

From what I understand, the Aliaz is a gateron (silent) brown with a stiffer leaf. So what you are saying makes sense.

It just seems like there is quite a lot of wrong information out there, see Krelbit's review of Aliaz switches (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/7uwzyl/aliaz_switches_replacement_zilent_or_unjustified/) where he stated that Zealio and Aliaz housings are the same.

With the Aliaz housing offering basically the smoothness of Zealios but with increased tactility, trying different leaves in there might result in some amazing tactile switches. I built a board with Zealio stems in Aliaz housing, and I seem to prefer this to stock Zealios and Zealio stems in Panda housing.
