Ergodone not recognized by computer
« on: Fri, 27 July 2018, 07:06:54 »
Recently got an ergodone (partially prebuilt ergodox) and my pc won't recognize it. I've tried everything I could find: different cables, several flashing methods (one of which is found here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=90365.0 ), checked the soldering, but nothing works. One thing I noticed, though, was that the pro micro (I think it's a clone) on my board only displays a green light instead of the red that I see in videos of people trying it out. The device doesn't show up in device manager so I can't install drivers or anything from there.

I'm on windows. I also have ubuntu installed so I guess I could try out some stuff on there as well.

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with this.

Does it show up in lsusb in ubuntu?

I usually flash my pro micros with a lufa bootloader via an ISP (I just use a arduino as ISP) before I use them...

No, it doesn't show up. lsusb has the exact same output regardless of whether I plug the board in or not.

Well, first try to flash lufa on it (also make sure the fuses are correct). If that fails, you will likely have to get a new pro-micro.
