I didn't mind using fn+(number) for the f keys though I did not care much for the fn and arrows, this would be great.

is it possible to make FN key near spacebar on JP version if yes instead of what KEY? seems its location in place of control is not so comfy for F keys and arrow keys.

standard HHKB arrow keys still works? (FN + [;'/)

p.s.: i like more backspace in US version

I couldn't give you a specific answer, but there is probably a DIP switch setting that will allow and additional Fn key to the dedicated one.  I have my (US) HHKB set up so that they left meta key is Fn.

I just wish it had a standard layout, then I would buy one.  (ducks for cover)

I had a friend who is fluent in Japanese look at the original blog post. The blog post says that she got a HHKB as a gift from another famous woman named Kazuyo Katsuma. Because she said she liked the board PFU sent her another one. Now she is entirely happy.

My friend also pointed out that Kazuyo Katsuma is economist column writer and therefore actually appreciates the HHKB as a great keyboard or got it from PFU as a gift in the first place and then dumped it on Hirose Kohmi randomly.

Either way.. funny stuff.

Can't we just order the Japanese version so we get to enjoy the arrow keys?  Not possible?  I know the space bar isn't nearly as big, but I hit the center of my space bar anyway.

Maybe they'll bolt on a small and useless trackball to the top right corner as well!
