Hi all. I have recently discovered the joys of TKL boards, and am thinking of putting together a smaller keyboard from a DIY kit. A lot of people recommend the TADA68 as a good option. I have seen the kit that is available on KBDFans, but I would like to know if it can be used to make an ISO layout version. I have seen ISO versions of the ready built ones, but I quite fancy making it myself.
Another option I have seen is the XD64 from KPRepublic. This one looks quite tempting because it is cheaper than the TADA68 (just under £50 vs about £90 for the TADA68), and I know it can be made to use the UK ISO layout. One downside I see is that it doesn't have the extra column of keys, which looks like I would need to make sacrifices on some other keys if I want to include the arrow keys (which I do).
Does anyone have experience of these boards, and is there anything else I should know before buying one of the kits?
Thanks,
Dave.
