I want ALPS plates for all the things.
« on: Mon, 28 January 2019, 23:36:51 »
So, I've run into a situation where I've reached out to two vendors who's keyboards I have purchased (second hand, though neither of them knew that for sure, if it matters) where I wanted a plate file. For one, there is no alps plate made, and I'd plan to just modify the original file to support the alps caps (stabs) and switches. The second one has an alps option, but the only plates the original owner had with it were in an awesome material, but maybe not something I'd like to daily drive. Are there any repos of common plates? are they comprehensive? Is anyone against reverse engineering them anyway, since I have an actual plate for these boards? It will require a lot of work... is there a better way to encourage all makers to release plate files after the first run?

Why do this custom makers?
