Hand wiring queestion
« on: Fri, 01 March 2019, 09:24:13 »
So I am currently working on finishing up a dactyl manuform that I have been working on.  I have one side finished. (First handwire! Hurray!) All I have to do on the second half is connect the  rows and columns to my Pro Micro, but as I was stripping insulation off the ends of the wire I am using to connect to the MCU, something occurred to me.

Does the location on each row/column you attach your lead wire to matter?  Does it have to be at the end, or can it be soldered anywhere along the length of the row?  I would *think* that since it is based of of an intersection of x,y (row, column) coordinates that the location doesn't matter, but I have never seen any pictures of leads soldered anywhere but at the end.

It's not really a big deal, but I did think that I could save myself the trouble of trying to solder my leads to a diode that is in a super awkward position in the corner under the press fit socket for the Pro Micro.

Thanks for reading and any information you can share!

Doesn't matter where on that same row or column you solder the wire going back to the controller to.
