Cherry Blue vs Brown Hysteresis and Tactility
« on: Sun, 26 December 2010, 15:56:40 »
Today, a friend of mine just bought a Blackwidow, and I was typing on it for a bit, and I noticed that while the key is coming back, it seems to reach a tactile point very close to the end of its travel (So close to the rest position) that seemed to almost hold the key bag a bit, kind of like lagging it.
This was most evident on large keys, especially the spacebar.

I was planning on buying one as well (Last two in store) but decided against it. I want to try some Browns. But I'm curious if this same weird lagging bump is felt on the browns as well.
Now I'm typing on a Model M, and the blues felt... interesting, but not worth the $100 the BW was.

How does the tactility of the browns compare to the blues? I've seen force graphs, but that doesn't mean I understand them. It the tactility similar to the blues, only more diminished?

Also, is there as much hysteresis on the browns as on the blues?
Thanks, and sorry for the long-as-hell post!

Why is OUR wiki the only technical accurate one on the InterToobs?

Because of the high salaries I pay to all the wiki contributors.
