That's mine, actually.  It's been suffering from neglect, so I've been considering parting with it for some time.  However, the exigent need to update my storage system for personal data convinced me to act sooner than later.

I would be happy to keep this within GH if someone here wants it.  The auction already has a bid, so I feel honor-bound from closing the auction with a clandestine BIN, but if you (or any GH member) wins the auction and mentions the "Geekhack Discount" I'll deduct 15% from your winning bid.

EDIT:  Oh, and my Filco numeric keypad is up for auction as well.  Same discount applies.

Hey Megarat - this looks awesome, I am note even in the market for a HHKB but this makes me want to bid on it! :)

Question for you, is your home driver a Filco Zero with clicky complicated alps with dampers in it?  Do the dampers help with white alps at all?  Do you find any transposition errors as a result of your filco zero controller?

Thanks, great auction there.

Thanks!  It's a sweet little setup ... if I was more of a collector I'd keep it around without question.

Yep, that's my daily driver for home and work.  (One at each location.)  I don't know if the dampeners "help" per se, but they do provide a different tactile sensation that I prefer.  Specifically, the bump is a bit softer.  You can tell that you're bottoming out on rubber rather than plastic/metal.

I put in a few words about transposition errors back on the two big threads about this, but summarized/updated:  no, I believe that my keyboards don't have this problem.  I typically type 80-100wpm and I've encountered similar problems with other boards (e.g., Tactile Pro 1), and sure, I sometimes get transposition typos, but I think they're all my own fault.

Note that my Filco boards started as XM, not Fukka, and it seems that most complaints have come from those with Fukka boards.  I've always wondered if there's a connection.

I've always meant to compliment you for the look of the keyboard. Definitely very, very sharp. It's one of the reasons I gave GH a second look last summer. I'm glad there are 2 of them out there!

Thanks.  It was a lot of fun to make.  I lot of experimenting was involved, with perhaps eight different colors, until I decided what worked best (at least to my eye).

I'm not sure what you mean by this.  Are you referring to the auction?  My auction does allow PayPal.

The use of PayPal is almost compulsory on eBay these days.

The colorful version is pretty one of kind (two of a kind if you count RDjack).

Which was done by megarat, too, so there's definitely a signature look to them.

Speaking of which, where is rdjack, anyway?  Has he hidden himself away in the Topre cult's cave never to be seen again?

Are you SURE you wanna sell that BTW Megarat.  I see a lot of people around here turn around and buy one back in a year.  The colorful version is pretty one of kind (two of a kind if you count RDjack).

Hey, I'm a statistician, I'm never sure of anything.

That said, in this case certainty is within my 95% confidence interval, and any uncertainty will likely become clear as the deadline approaches.

(The only reason I would want to keep it is that "I made it".  But I also get some artist's pride out of selling something I made to someone who wants it badly enough to pay money for it.  If that makes any sense.)

Wow if somehow some way you were able to make every key purple like the ones on top I would live to take it off your hands if you named a price ><

You could do it yourself with white blank (or not) keycaps and a packet of Purple Rit.  Easy and fun!

(The HHKB modifier keys do start out grey instead of white, and thus would end up slightly darker than the other keys, but that might look nice as well.)

It seems there are numerous people "on the buy" at the present moment, so a hefty purchase price is of no concern.
