What is your favourite keyboard that you own?
« on: Sat, 18 May 2019, 07:32:53 »
What is your favourite keyboard that you own or you've ever typed on?

My favourite keyboard that i've typing on would be the Das Professional. Besides my Corsair K63(which is an ABSOLUTE UNIT) , the switches and key feel are actually not too bad. The keycap quality is great, and it feels so comfortable to use.

My BFO-9000,mainly because I designed the plates myself and put it together myself, second would be the Cherry RC128BM I modded by removing the MX blacks and installing blues.

My QF TK.

Seriously, why isn't this layout more popular between spacesaving boards?

A 122 key IBM model F. Modded it to a near-ANSI layout and picked up a Soarer's converter cable from Orihalcon. It's an absolute beast and has my favorite key feel of all time.

Calling a Corsair K63 a absolute unit sounds like a meme oh well. My Favourite at the moment is my Canoe with Gateron reds.

Dudes never used a Zephyr.

My favorite is my Grid600. Cream stems in zeal housings, GMK caps. Sounds amazing and feels great.

For looks alone it would have to be my Sericanoe.

I am not sure that I could just pick one...

My most consistent keyboard has been my HHKB BT. I find myself going back to it.

It has 55g domes and lubed purple silent sliders. I love the feel and sound of it.

I recently got an HHKB Pro 1. Once I get it modded the way I want, I feel that it will be really enjoyable.

and...

I got my Fox Labs Leaf 60 put together and I am really enjoying it, MX wise.

Come on, you can't just casually leave that comment here without a picture or ten.

Stock Realforce Topre with 55g domes. I never get tired of the punchiness on this thing. Since I tend to have a lighter touch when I type, it doesn't wake up anyone in the house at night either and the sound is really pleasant.

Modded and silenced HHKB with the BKEs and the variable weight Realforce boards are not that far behind, but I always go back to my 55g Realforce when I really feel like typing a whole lot and want to feel like I accomplished something.

Hard to choose one, especially since I haven't found an end-game yet.

Strangely, of all my board I end up using a QFR with MX Reds and custom blank PBT keycaps. The Reds are nowhere near as smooth as I'd like, but the weighting is easy to live with and I prefer linear to notchy tactility.

If I had to choose just one to live with forever, I'd go with the Realforce 87U 45g uniform (mine's a stormtrooper). Smooth, very pleasant sound, subtle, and reliable. Hard to go wrong.

MY Topre RGB with custom Anodized Titanium case, Paracord and keys from 3 sets of GMK. It is also probably my most expensive keyboard. The RGB is fine as is but I wanted to make something I love. No pics, sorry.

My favorite is my Topre Type Heaven with KBDFans silence-x rings and KBDFans 9009 keycaps.  It's just as nice to type on as a Realforce, but the case design is more modern and I can actually see the keycap legends.

No pics. If you didn't think it happened no problem. I had it made at a local fab shop. They hate doing one off's so it cost me a fortune. Plus I used 3 GMK sets to get what I wanted. Paracord that is detachable. This honestly cost me a fortune but it is all I use now. It is by far the most expensive keyboard I have. Talking like $7K. Was it worth that? To me I guess. I may have more money than brains though. I use this for a living so I just deduct it anyways. Deduct that much on it could cause audit though. Of course everything is just aesthetic. It does not "improve" the keyboard in any way. I like the light underneath the keys since the entire membrane lights up anyways. I honestly like this board more then my 104UB or HHKB. With the GMK it does indeed "thwack". I also made a very unique rounded rest out of 1000 year old Oak. No pics of that either. Just my policy. I have never posted a pic to the web. What I really like is the variable pressure. You do not have to bottom out on it like most Topres. I think one board has a dial with a bunch of variations but it is not backlit. Even on this "made in Japan" I had to resolder some LED's. That was my backlit sucks thread. It does not actually suck IMO. Just be prepared for soldering with any backlit board. A lot more solder joints in those boards. Many of them often "cold". Otherwise a Topre is one of the most reliable boards as it is not actually  "mechanical". I have had many Cherry switches go bad. Maybe just bad luck.
