Question about a Lexmark Model M 1390401 (1996) I just got
« on: Mon, 15 July 2019, 15:18:14 »
Just got this one, great condition:

But it sounds a bit different. Namely it doesn't seem to have that tin-y hollow "pin" sound after the click which you can hear in these videos:

Does anyone know why? It's definitively the same buckling spring keyboard. It also definitively does not sound as loud as I would have expected.

Don't worry about it. Every one is different. Some people like them crazy loud, but feel is what's important.
And remember:
Trump is weak, not strong. Losing, not winning. A failure, not a success. A villain, not a hero. A big blubbery babyman, anything, anything but a strong man.

Actually I figured it out and 'fixed' the issue.

The previous owner had done a floss mod, I removed it. New sound:

A lot more tactile and ping-y. Love it now.
