That's too expensive. Besides, I already have a 200Mhz Pentium computer, and it's even better.

And I got it for free out of a pile of junk in the supermarket parking lot.

Yeah yeah, you getting it from the supermarket.

No, the 300PLs can support 384 MB of EDO RAM, have a cool headphone jack and knob at the front, and, have a matrox rainbow runner at 4 MB of memory. Uhhh... they're also more compact and are just so much more cool than "gateway".

So do either of you understand how technology works? I have this idea that you don't.

What is it that makes this old computer desirable?
Is it just the case and its capabilities?

Myself, I once cut one of these cases apart just to salvage some striped plastic for a project. I did not pay much attention to the chassis or anything else inside it.

There are interesting and/or useful old computers.

The above are not examples of such.

Yeah and you can use DOS stuff at the same time. It's like the ultimate computer for everything.
I got my 300GL loaded with 512 MB of RAM & windows 98 SE.

My Gateway's got 64 and it runs fine. I loaded on Windows 95 and it's unfortunately the most reliable computer I have!

No it wouldn't. And phones have lousy web browsers and tiny screens.

Oh yes it would!

Oh no, seriously, it would. Not running IE1 would be the first advantage of many.

Buy an E Pro and be done with it - you'll have a 300GL/PL lookalike in a snazzy black case. Nobody'll notice it's horribly outdated.

Actually the 300PL/GL cases differed immensely (three different case types that I know of for them).

Most 300GLs use case type B... but I like case type A the best because it's much easier to work with in my opinion, more space, and it just looks better.

I actually don't like my 300GL, but it works.

I still maintain that EIBM is the biggest troll on the forum. By far the least subtle too. It's not a faintly interesting old PC mate, it is however just ripe for shipping off to a third world country so they can strip all the metals out of it.

GL is the one he doesn't like (despite it being more commonly found in the better case).

PL is the junker and it's oddly the one he prefers.
