Keyboard for stepmania?

I want to mention also that I have not had any issues with the phantom key blocking that a reviewer mentioned and demonstrated by video. Which is not to say that the key blocking does not exist. But from what I understand, nearly all modern keyboards use phantom key blocking as a feature to prevent phantom input. And yes, there is a drawback when certain key combinations are pressed, you must lift one of the depressed keys in order for the next key to register. I type between 70-85WPM on average. Maybe I'm not a fast enough typist but I tried typing the problem combinations as fast as I possibly could and did not once register a problem. I read a few professional reviews online and did not see a mention at all of key blocking being different on this keyboard compared to others. I used keyscan and can verify that the blocking combinations that the other reviewer found do exist but they did not cause any errors for me. I can't see this being an issue for a majority of users personally. I wrote this entire review with it and I intend to keep it."

I heard this uses the same system as the danivo (so that would not help either)

afew years back I got the fatal1ty keyboard and that would only register 2 arrows at the same time making it impossible to play stepmania with

so basically is there a keyboard with scissor keys that would allow me to hit triples/quads on stepmania and NOT limit my keystrokes?

Not scissor switches I think, but mechanical switches, yes. Any mechanical keyboard with NKRO can support any number of keys with no blocking.

how much of an advantage would you say something like that would have over the typical keyboard in terms of speed?

if I can find what I want then I am willing to spend quite a bit
price does not matter because I am willing to spend anything but obviously I would it to cost less

edit: please post several of them but the keys MUST be easy to press
also I really really would need a wired

I am talking about stepfiles of this difficulty though

do you think it could handle something like that? and do you have any other suggestions for scissor/mechanical keyboards? I want to see what my options are
but I want to 100% know that it does not have an issue with registering keys and can handle  4+ key presses at a time no problem

it took me ages to find a decent keyboard that can do this stuff but its time for a new one and I want to get something more expensive to replace it with but I want to know its an upgrade in performance

I gave away a G80-1800 with blacks to my brother who plays Stepmania a lot, and he is very happy of it despite the 2-kro and pretty poor matrix.

SM players tend to use the logitech ultra x keyboard (i think it has another version but can't recall the name of it).

ofc you can play stepmania flawlessly with a 2kro kb. Almost all good players use ZX and ,. keys which do not have any blocking problems at any combo including all 4 at the same time, and most importantly you won't get tendinitis caused by using the arrow keys.

nope. It means that the kb will register 2 keys at the worst combo possible (for example ASX), but at other combos it could go a lot more (easily 6+ considering modifiers)

more importantly than that concept my recommendation is that you should try that combo first, and if it has any problems then search for another kb.

try ASX for example. Most probably the last key won't register, but if you try ZX,. at the same time it won't have any problems even if you press ZX,. ;  .,XZ ; etc combination. That's why I suggest you first try those keys (or others) before searching for another kb.

The Cherry blacks may be a bit stiff for typing but that Deck Legend with Cherry Blacks sure sounded a lot better than that wimpy laptop.  I'd look of something LOUD and FUN since subtlety doesn't seem to be the key here - you're always bottoming out!

If I remember correctly, in Stepmania you sometimes have to hold 3 keys ... how would that work with 2-kro ?

Stepmania is traditionally arrow-key oriented, but a lot of people remap the keys. I still use the arrows, myself, even though it makes certain patterns harder.

Until I got my Filco, I was using a Logitech netplay keyboard, originally meant for playstation 2. It was only 2kro, but all four arrow keys worked at the same time, thankfully. Using the arrows just reminds me more of DDR, the patterns that are difficult on a pad are also hard on the arrows, needing either doublesteps or crossovers.
