Hello everyone!

I've had this idea for a while, and I'm finally brave enough to put it out there! I'm really new to this and just want to see if people like the colors and general design before I go all out. This keycap set is the embodiment of many delightful things! One big inspiration was strawberries on mint chip ice cream. I really love mint chip ice cream and wanted to see it come to life in a keycap set! It was a treat at my house to add some strawberries on top. Pretty unorthodox I know, but very sweet! The base keys are a creamy tan with minty chocolate mods and and green/pink accents.

Artisans are in the works and will be posted as a secondary kit soon. (cute strawberry on a keycap?) (Or a cute little mint chip guy?)

PRICING AND KITTING ARE TBD
TKC has been chosen as the US Vendor and the set will be ran through Infinikey.
I want to at least provide support for 60%, 65%, 75%, TKL, and full-size boards but don't want to overextend to too many kits. The current base kit offering is in the above render, let me know if anything should be added. There is potential to offer a pink mod kit like shown, and possibly other layout support.

That is a bit similar but teal is not mint green! I cant actually say I've seen delta before. The colors on delta seem much brighter and more neon, not very creamy.

For an IC you should have a more well thought out and presentable product. It looks here like you only have an idea for a set; no renders, no kitting, no profile. Just remember that IC's are usually more down the line and not for a starting out concept. If you want early feedback, it's better to get it on reddit and discord servers, otherwise it's your set and your idea so you have to make the decisions yourself for material, profile, and kitting.

Adding on to this, quickly throwing up Pantones is a big warning sign. Color coordination and matching takes a lot of work to get right. Have you tried calibrating your monitors? Did you get some pantone plastic chips to validate your color choices irl? ...or did you use a site to find the Pantones "closest" to the hex values you had in keyboardsimulator and call it a day?

Wow, after reading more comments I finally looked at GMK DELTA and it does look super close except the pink. Designing keycaps must be a pain in the butt since so many nice sets have been made already and you might accidentally copy!

the black is not really helping with the strawberry mint chip aesthetic. this looks like 9009's cousin with an emo streak. maybe make it a cream or pastel mint or something? also i'm not sure if my eyes are tricking me, but the renders seem to be using a kind of red tinted light which is throwing me off. hope to see this idea more fleshed out

Your colors look like they might be close to GMK Stock colors 3C and 3A, have you considered making this set fully stock colors to help not have to worry about color matching?

This is actually a really good point, I was trying to avoid GMK as a lot of my friends who want the set wanted PBT but I'll consider it for sure!

Even if that's true, I don't really see the point in being overly rude about it but to each their own. A bad interest check doesn't personally attack you.

The phrase "Interest Check" has evolved over time to encompass posts like the current ones where the idea is fully fleshed out, often already color matched, and where kitting has mostly been worked out. Posting a thread labelled as an IC with nothing but a Keyboard Simulator "render" initially is not a good look. I do enjoy seeing the progress that you've had on this set on this thread, but just keep this thought in mind for the next time you want to post an IC or design a set. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the colorway, and I think it could be refined to further be developed and be more in line with your source material. I'm looking forward to see where your set goes, and I'll be following the development of this set with eager eyes! GLWIC.

Thanks for the honest feedback! I realized right away that I didn't hit the mark for sure, but I felt like it wouldn't be right to just retreat and give up on the idea. I have a renderer, and designer for cute artisans  and deskmats now, and potential cable collabs in the works so more exciting stuff to come!

man people are toxic, interest check might have evolved but it still holds the meaning of the words interest and check. the guy was wondering if any one was interested in his idea or choice of colours before they committed multitudes of hours just to be called out for ripping of other sets when there are sooo many sets available. if this was put up in gb then the anger from some of you might have been justified.

Hi there. I mean things like Up arrow next to the shift, the bent arrow next to the enter enter key.etc something similar to how GMK does it. Novelties would be really nice too! (Like a mint leaf I guess). Im personally not into the pink but I do love everything else (I've seen images you have published without the pink keys as well). Thank you for displaying this really nice colorway set in PBT format.

This is where the lack of proper documentation really hurts people. This seems like at least a half honest IC where the intention was made clear that they only wanted feedback on colors and color combination. And yes, I agree that the term IC has evolved, but where on this site is this documented? I made the same mistake when doing my first IC on here as well and, somehow avoided the flame, but definitely deserved it considering it was just KLE's and HEX colors lol. OP if you would like help developing this set, you can reach out to me and I will give you some documentation that I have been working on regarding developing and designing in the keyboard community. I think it could be very beneficial and I don't want people to lose interest in their own set because they are unsure about what to do and how to go about it in the current climate of the hobby. You have clearly responded to the criticism by adding the suggested materials that this was lacking and just need a roadmap on how to polish your ideas. Let me know if you need help.
