Hi! New person :)

I've been getting into pc building and after I found out how to build Pcs I fell into the mech keyboard rabbit hole. I want to try modding a keyboard so do you guys think that its better to buy a 50 dollar keyboard to mod or just completely build my own from scratch?

Welcome :)

Depends on what kind of modding I'd think. If you're about to cut the PCB in half and glue it back to Frankenstein a layout I would not buy a nice kit for that.

i started by buying a 50 dollars board and putting browns onto it and regretted it, discovered i did not like browns and the ansi layout. advantage is that not too much was lost :)

what i am saying is if you are not sure on what you want maybe go for the cheaper option and pull the trigger on nice parts when you know yourself.
