Are the spacings on TKL boards standardised?
« on: Mon, 23 November 2020, 04:27:40 »
If I generate a standard 104 key layout at www.keyboard-layout-editor.com and chop of the numpad, are the spacings (between alpha-num and F-row as well as the nav cluster spacings) standard? And do common TKL PCBs use these spacings?

Thanks in advance <3

There is no single standard for PCBs, but Costar-made keyboards (Filco Majestouch, WASD, CM Quickfire Rapid) have a common format though: 0.5 unit vertically between F-keys and numeric row, 0.25 unit horizontally between F12 and Print Screen columns. Parts made for these keyboards fit these measurements.

The KBD8X PCB for instance, does not adhere to Costar's measurements.
