Need help, keys not registering after desoldering

I desoldered the mx brown switches on my Ducky Shine 5 since I was planning on replacing them with gateron yellows, plus some of the keys were chattering anyway.

After desoldering, I tested the pcb and some keys don't register. I noticed they might be connected to the Z key, which looks like it has a burnt pad (?)

I tried using tweezers to connect each key that won't register to the Z key, and all of them work fine except for the tilde (~) key.

Can I fix this with a switch bridge? This was my first time desoldering and I'm not really familiar with electronics. Any help would be appreciated!

Diodes are dangerously close to pads so make sure you didn't desolder or damaged any of them.
You can test diodes with a multimeter.

Looking on the front I see what looks like should be a trace running from the bottom pin of K144 (Z key) to the bottom of K12A3, I note the break in the white so maybe you pulled the trace off attached to the pad?

Short yellow to cyan either blue and it should type a Z, if it does solder yellow the pad at the end of the green line to either of the blue dots and any connected keys (X C V  M , and . I guess?) will come back to life.  The Cyan dot is just there to distract you


Not sure where the tilde is but I guess it's an ISO board and it's between Z and left shift?  If so it's not connected to Z, that would be far too sane for a professional PCB designer.

Ducky factory solder is not very DIY friendly so only one damaged pad on your first try is impressive

i will second SO on that lifted trace, looks like it to me too, and looking at the remaining traces it would make sense that all those keys would also fail with that trace lifted, although your tilde key is also on the same net so should also come back to life.

I did what you said and shorted yellow to one of the blues, but it didn't register Z. However, the bridge worked anyway! Thank you so much!!

Either you shorted it wrong or maybe your bridge is shorting to the diode because all the Z switch does now is short yellow to blue when pressed.  Unless maybe you shorted before soldering the switches in and the switch pin is used as a via?  That would be strange...
