I think G.B.E. answered your questions pretty well so I'm not gonna elborate further there. What I will say is that you should probably just order the parts & put it together yourself as it will save you a good bit of money or allow you to make a better build if you spend the same amount. I get not wanting to miss something, but the list is fairly simple for a Tofu60 build you'll need,
- The Tofu case itself
- A compatible 60% PCB (any standard GH60/tray mount compatible 60% PCB with the USB port on the left will work)
- A 60% plate for tray mount cases in the material of your choice
- A set of stabilizers (you'll need 1 - space bar stab 6.25u or 7u & 4 - 2u stabs for a regular 60% layout. 6.25u space for regular ANSI bottom row, 7u space for a Tsangan bottom row)
- 70 switches of your choosing (I always recommend buying at least a few more switches than you need cause it's not unheard of to get a dud or two in a batch)
- Case foam (needs to have cutouts for hotswap sockets if you plan on using a hotswap PCB)
- PCB foam or the KBD modular foams (they serve the same purpose so no need for both)
- Lube for switches & stabs (Personally I use Krytox 205g0 for both, extremely light coatings on the switch parts heavier on the stab parts. Although you could sub in dielectric grease for the stabilizers which is more forgiving to work with)
- Switch films if the switches you choose benefit from them (Deskey films are my gotto, they fit a wide range of switches & are fairly thick)
It's up to you how you want to go about buying stuff though, so if you feel the prebuilt Tofu is easier for you go for it. Just wanted to point out you could save a decent bit or upgrade your parts some if you buy all the parts & build it yourself. Whatever you decide feel free to hit us up if you need any help with building or tuning the build. Good luck with your project!
