Jeez, one more time: Especially early OG dyesubs on HASRO have totally different colors! Alphas not "cherry beige", it's milky-white, dark-white. It's would be better if you made GMK set with custom colors, or just call this set HAV.

This is an add-on kit for existing GMK Beige sets with "cherry beige".

I left this comment on the IC, just duplicating it here for visibility: Please do try to get a UK vendor.

If the usual UK vendor is not interested, Protozoa Studio has handled some niche GMK sets in the past for us and may be willing. Failing that and if no UK vendors at all are interested, please don't use MyKeyboard as the sole EU vendor – MK.eu is very much suboptimal within the UK, as they're not tax registered and impose a minimum spend of 200EUR in order to ship to us. That'd make this set basically unattainable for UK buyers... which would really blow given you have ISO-UK keys in base!

No updates sadly as I have no EU or UK vendors. I've already reached out to most of them and they have declined.

ProtoTypist, Protozoa Studio, and Hand Engineering are all UK vendors who've ran GMK sets in the past. If all three have declined then that's a shame but I guess acceptable. Zfrontier does world-wide shipping as far as I know, so we have that option available to us. It really is a shame given that you have ISO-UK keys in base! Still, you tried.

As some comment mentioned OG being more white than L9.

Also GMK Red Alert looks good with red on CP. So I could imagine that it would look hot with this colorway too.

I also like my Yuru which has CP.

+1 for this. I would love to see Ukranian key support. It's a personal bias but would also give the set something that no one else is really offering.

Really hope this will happen in 2023, it is a classic and I am sure it will do great even knowing that some of the recent beige gb's struggled a bit.

I have an impression that HASRO alphas are slightly brghter than L9. Imo it looks better. But I undersatnd it's a kit intended for beige sets...

Exactly, whenever there is 3 or more colors involved with GMK (and windowed keycaps), then UV-pad-printed legends are used since GMK only offers doubleshot. Unlike DMK and JTK who also offer tripleshot keycaps.

Did you ask all EU vendors? MykeyboardEU, Candykeys, Oblotzky, Eloquentclicks and whatever smaller shops exist? (My guess is that Candykeys and Oblotzky wouldnt run this, Candykeys because they dont like beige and Oblotzky because he has way too much instock to "risk" another GB.)
And maybe ask if Keygem would be willing to run at a later time maybe?

Or ask vendors if they would run if you ran this set with mods?

Please consider Oblotzky & Eloquentclicks first as EU vendors if you can. Candykeys at lesser extention and mostly Mykeyboard.eu suffer from multiple issues (delays, shipping and overall service problems) and thus better be avoided.

If that’s around $70+ USD, my gosh, sorry to hear dude.
If you’re talking about shipping costs going from $10USD to shipping + tax going to $50USD total… like, I sympathise, but are we really that price sensitive in this crazy hobby? I personally have had to cop $50 shipping for Oblotzky extras for addon kits a few times… I’m all for doing our best to find a vendor, but not going ahead with a set (and not allowing it to exist) because of that is wild to me. It has gone back to being a smaller, less popular hobby & the convenience & fees is probably going to reflect that. We’re lucky that the hobby is where it is in terms of affordable boards & affordable alternatives.

Oh? I wasn't aware that GMK L9/U9 had to be "evaluated", it must be a new combination of stock GMK colors no one's ran before. Not sure if you have read the thread but OP has announced vendors literally 1 year ago, and since kitting hasnt been updated for more than that, how is it not pertinent to ask for updates on what more we're waiting on? Oh, unless OP has been facilitating price negotiation between GMK and the already announced vendors for over a year now, which is your assumption.

no my assumption is just that you're making things too easy by expecting something that's not granted. maybe it's been put on hold? cancelled? postponed? no way to know except patiently waiting.

the hobby being expensive means it's ok to spend big, not spend stupid.
if a board/keycap sets is actually worth a lot I'd gladly spend that much, but I'm not paying 50-100% more just because the runner/designer/maker/whatever can't be arsed to find a regional vendor. as you say the hobby is large enough, it ain't hard to find one. GMK is also located in the EU, no reason to fly the keycaps back and forth around the world.
