What was the reasoning behind going with dye-sub? I'm not criticizing it. I'm just curious why double-shot wasn't chosen?

I believe PBTfans was in the process of fixing the mold for their text-mod keycaps when the idea for R2 was proposed. They suggested that the designer try their dye-sub method, as it would make the set cheaper and allow it to enter the production queue more swiftly. The designer found the dye-sub sample acceptable and there it goes

What was the reasoning behind going with dye-sub? I'm not criticizing it. I'm just curious why double-shot wasn't chosen?

You can offer it for a lower price and with the improvements to keyreatives new dye sub method, you get a much cleaner legending compared to the past.

Also pbtfans text mods with some double shot is not that great so this allows them to offer text mods without trying to rework the text mods mold which can get costly
