[IC]Key Kobo Motosu

If you have any questions or suggestions for Motosu, feel free to let me know via my IC form! I'll read this information carefully!

It's been a while since we've last met. This is Amamiya Kana. Summer has arrived... It's so hot...As of today, I have my own separate account at Geekhack!

Even though I'm not moving, it's still so hot! (>д<;)

The coldest place I've been to is Yamanashi in spring. At that time, it was about minus 2 degrees Celsius near Lake Motosu.

It might not seem like much to friends from extremely cold regions, but for someone like me, from a subtropical climate, it was quite tough.

I never thought I would be bundled up like an onion! It was even a bit difficult to move!

But it was also there that I encountered one of the most beautiful sceneries I've ever seen! Lake Motosu and Mount Fuji!

Although I arrived at Hōan (the place where Nadeshiko falls asleep in the first episode of the first season of Yuru Camp; besides the campsite, there are also accommodations there) at around eight or nine in the evening, the moonlit lake and the campfire below gave me a feeling of
"Ah, is this what a pilgrimage feels like?"

Being immersed in the same emotions as the main characters is probably the biggest feeling for someone who loves pilgrimage spots. At that moment, the Anime and the real world overlapped, and I unconsciously sighed with such emotions.

That's great! This time, I want to share the beauty of Lake Motosu through the seasons with everyone in the form of keycaps!

Although the Lake Motosu keycaps might seem like a derivative work of Yuru Camp, I think it's about half and half.

The design does indicate some signs and characteristics from the series, but they also have the characteristics of Lake Motosu itself (which I'll mention in the personalized keycaps section).

The color scheme is the classic Rin-chan scarf color!

The light blue and dark blue of the sky and lake, the red leaves of autumn, and the white snow of winter—I think this style can also represent Lake Motosu.

The eyes are unexpectedly relaxed (?).

BASE Kit

Huh? The F keys area in the upper parts of R3 and R4 has this kind of stepped design?

That's right! This kind of embellishment is unexpectedly beautiful. The deep blue of the Alphas not only represents the deep and mysterious middle of the lake but also is surrounded by the light blue of the shallow waters and sky, the red leaves, and the white snow, each representing the four seasons around the lake.

The Base itself symbolizes the image of a lake!

Scarf Kit

This was the initial bold concept for the BASE!

The design features horizontal stripes running across the entire keycap, resembling Rin-chan's scarf.

Initially, I thought about giving up on this idea because many current keycap sets with recessed arrow keys or special layouts might not look good with this design due to the height differences. However, My friend Fullstop said, "I think it looks great! This is the soul of the design!"

So, we designed a Base that looks beautiful on its own, and for players with compatible sets, they can replace it with a scarf-style Scarf Kit!

Novelty Kit

The features of Lake Motosu include the moss phlox in spring, rainbow trout in summer, red leaves in autumn, and pine cones under the snow in winter.

Additionally, there's the local legend of the water monster Mossie (Mossie, a UMA similar to the Loch Ness Monster, now serves as the mascot).

Of course, there are also the classic camping items! Everyone is familiar with the motorcycle and the folding stove. As for the camper, it is driven by Nadeshiko after she grows up in the movie!

More detailed information about the Novelty kit will be provided in a guidebook included as a small bonus when you purchase it.
You can read it when you unbox!

Num Kit, Space Kit

These kits will be adjusted to correspond with the Base kit and Scarf kit, allowing for free interchangeability!
If you use the Alice layout with the Scarf kit, it will give the impression of a flowing scarf!

Packaging & Easter Egg

The packaging is designed in the style of camping gears, directly showcasing the scenery of Lake Motosu using the four main colors of this set.

And as for the main visual element—me, Nana! I'm wearing the clothes I wore during that trip!

The guidebook includes explanations and photos of the personalized patterns, providing a similar atmosphere to receiving a guidebook at a scenic spot. This little bonus is for everyone to enjoy!

Next up are the rendered images on the keyboard.

The actual photos will be taken before the group buy (GB) for everyone to admire. Of course, they will also serve as reference images during the GB!

The four base colors used in the theme will look great on the corresponding kits.

However, if you want to pair them with the Scarf kit, be mindful of whether your set has recessed keys or an overly special layout!

Lake Motosu Keycap Set

This Lake Motosu keycap set was something I originally wanted to start making right after returning from my trip last spring. However, due to the initial design being a bit rushed and immature, the project was set aside for a while.

Not only is this a full ABS double shot set, but it’s also my first attempt at a special color scheme. There were specific considerations needed for creating the patterns on the two-color molds as well...

Recently, I started working with KKB, and Fullstop, as both the designer and my main contact in KKB, helped me greatly. We talked a lot and worked together to redesign Lake Motosu, eventually completing it.

Fullstop provided many design suggestions and guided me. I also want to thank Yun Zong for the initial renders and Sen Sen for the final renders—thank you both for always lending a hand. Thanks to Sister Chang’an for the connections provided to make this project come alive.

I hope the group buy will be successful! If you like my design, feel free to join our group. It's mostly about anime content, so be aware of the vibe~

I hope to meet you all again!

Cute set, glwic

In terms of 40s support, that r3 1.25u enter is very rarely used. Instead I'd go with the standard r3 1.5u enter (which must be accompanied by r2 1.75u backspace). If you for some reason can't add the extra backspace go with an r3 1.75u enter instead of the 1.5u.

Thank you for your feedback! I've been designing keycaps for entry level users.
So I need more advice on what a deep high-end keyboard user needs.
I'll give feedback to the studio about the keycap length, it's very useful for me!

Saw the post on ZF Blog couple months ago. Nice to see it posted here. Your set and Kei65 KKB Casio (KKB C.O.L, Pbtfans 1950, KKB Izakaya) are the ones i have caught my eye for the last couple months.

The R4 1U 'Fn' key should be tan, matching the same color as the shift key(s).

I would like to see a Japanese sub-legend.
I think it would add detail.

Thank you! We're expecting production in October, so hopefully the color scheme will be something that others will like too!

Oh! It's a little ingenuity on the part of our rendering staff, and I'm glad to bring it to your attention that there are a lot of keyboards that this kit will work with, and I look forward to more combinations that you can come up with!

The R4 1U 'Fn' key should be tan, matching the same color as the shift key(s).

Copy that! I took a look at my own local file is what you said, it might be a rendering issue, I'll update this part when I get to GB, thanks for letting me know!

I would like to see a Japanese sub-legend.
I think it would add detail.

In fact, I started with a Japanese sub-legend, but the rendering was so confusing that I wanted the comfort of a pure color combination

Really nice work. Love the colors here.

Thank you for your feedback! I hope the Scarf kit combination is refreshing!

Great to hear its entering production and is likely an instock purchase. Definitely buying through whatever is available option of taobao through caniano, unikeys and keykobo.com.

Really like how KKB does more instock sales with some of these unique nicher colors that otherwise may not reach KKB moq through GB.

It will definitely be in the available options! I'll try to keep the KKB products in the same color as possible.

GMK Deku ut's also a very good color combination, I prefer the calm combination, I think no matter how many times I look at it, it has a kind of stable mind feeling, I will update the actual color sample when the time comes, please stay tuned!
