Unikeys Uni Linear Switch

How can Unikeys be complete without a Uni switch? Allow me to introduce you to Unikeys' second in-house designed Keygeek switch: the Uni linear switch.

The design inspiration for this switch comes from the "actual owner" of Unikeys-Our cute little poodle called Uni. He is also the inspiration for the store name and our logo just in case you haven't noticed.

Keygeek Uni Linear Switch

Uni switch is Keygeek's first linear switch with a full PA12 housing and U4 stem.

PA12 housing is good for two things: A super smooth travel because of its low surface friction and a relatively deeper and thockier sound because PA12 is soft.

U4 Strengthened UPE stem: Keygeek's U4 stem is smooth and solid at the same time. A more traditional pure UPE stem is ultra smooth but it also comes with a few downsides; For example, a pure UPE stem can sound very deep and muted. It could also be easily deformed because of its softness. Some switches with UPE stems create a keycap ticking sound during typing, and again, this is because pure upe is too soft and the stems don't sit steady in the keycaps. Luckily, strengthened UPE doesn't come with any of these issues. By the way, if U4 doesn't sound familiar enough, you could consider it as Keygeek's LY material.

Top Housing Mold: One thing that differentiates the Uni switch from other existing Keygeek switches is the improved top housing mold. Keygeek increased the size of the stem housing by a tiny bit. The reason is to avoid the syringe effect while still maintaining minimum stem wobble. The height of the new top housing is also lowered to avoid interference with thicker keycaps.
