Hello all,

I'm here to learn. I plan to get an ergonomic mechanical keyboard and need to understand many details. I'm not really a geek, but I always love to learn in new fields.

What I envision is:
- a column-staggered keyboard with an angle between left and right halves, but not split ;
- Cherry MX brown switches, I guess, but I should probably test them to understand the feeling ;
- an Ergo-L layout (ergonomic layout designed to type both French or English with ease).

The most seducing keyboards I stumbled upon during my initial researches are the Atreus (Keyboardio) and the Reverb (keeb.io). If you have an experience with those, I'll be interested.

I'm presently learning to type with an Ergo-L layout and pondering wether a DIY project would be reasonable.

Wishing a sunny Sunday to all,

Belgian Sailor

Hey, welcome to Geekhack! Great to have you here. Your keyboard plan sounds awesome — the Ergo-L layout with MX Browns is a solid start. I’ve heard good things about both the Atreus and Reverb, so you’re definitely looking in the right direction. If you enjoy tinkering, a DIY build could be a really fun project. Hope you find the perfect setup that fits your typing style!
