Thoughts on the Razer Boomslang 20th Anniversary Edition
« on: Tue, 10 February 2026, 02:10:36 »
Personally, the Boomslang was my first ever performance mouse (analogue ball version) so I was excited to hear about this.

Then I kept reading, and the more I learned, the more disappointed I got.

It looks fantastic. I genuinely think it is a beautiful piece of hardware.

That being said; The price point, limited availability, and pomp surrounding it, makes it one of the dumbest and most pointless pieces of hardware to ever be made.

What do yall think?

I mean, that price is just braindead

I think that friends don't let friends buy Razer.

It is a brand that exploits its consumers. It has insecure, bloated "drivers". Their marketing over-exaggerates (as a rule). And then when called out, shuffles problems under the rug or outright lies about it.

I'm really annoyed. I've wanted to try a Boomslang since I saw the 2007 model as a kid but they've always been priced well out of what I'd be willing to pay for one. It's been 19 years since then and this is what they shat out? It's completely on-brand for the company at this point. Even the half-assed 2015 Diamondback reboot was a better product "for the fans" than this overpriced turd.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend Razer again even if my life depended on it. I don't even think their products (at least the mice) are particularly bad, but the company's conduct and Synapse are absolute non-starters. My Basilisk V3 Pro has been collecting dust more than I've actually used it - that's how obnoxiously bad that piece of software has gotten. Their CEO is an absolutely out-of-touch clown.

I had the ball track one, it was good for its time,

Then when I saw this, with updated tech, I was all in

Then I saw the price….
