INTRO
Hi guys, this is Rkeebs_ again. As we are closing to deliver Qi65, I think now is the time to officially IC this re-designed 70s.
FRL TKL is, in my opinion, one of the most practical and beautiful layout that I love about keyboard.
Without having to compromise and squeeze the arrow keys and the alphas, it provides spaces between arrow clusters and alphas.
INSPIRATIONS
Like I said in the previous IC, the inspirations came from one of the my fav keyboards, TGR Jane.
The combination of backweight and Toblerone just caught my eye instantly, and based on that,
I want to create something that's simplistic, elegant and unique in some ways.
SPECIFICATIONS
Layout: FRL TKL (WK/WKL/HHKB)
EKH: 21.9mm + 1.5mm(Feet)
Typing Angle: 7 Deg
Weight: Around 2kg built.
Mounting: PCB Poron Gaskets
EXTERNAL
The whole appearance of the keyboard follows a simplistic aesthetic while creating shadows
and contrasts using ramp and curved faces.
On the front, the badge features a dragon-scale-like shape which I was thinking about long ago
and got the inspiration from some ancient Chinese cultures.
On the back, there are two curves meeting in the middle to create a sense of unity and coordination.
INTERNAL
For internal, Poron Gasket is always the safest choice, or best choice imo. However,
things like internal assembly sliding around was one of the obstacles I observed on Qi65,
so we added stopper pins on the corners to avoid sliding.
Additionally, we split the PCBs and plates between alphas and arrow clusters and add blockers between them
to provide a better and isolated sound profiles throughout the keyboard.
