Is Mechboards still alive?
« on: Thu, 05 November 2026, 07:43:16 »
Mechboards.co.uk hasn't provided any updates on their group buys since April 30th. I am wondering if they are still operating, or if I'll ever get my Hyper7.
There is no greater knowledge than the knowledge of one's self. There is no greater truth than the truth of moral conviction. And there is no greater keyboard than the one beneath my fingertips.

I was wondering the same thing after seeing no updates since April. Small vendors do go quiet between group buys, so silence on its own is not proof they have closed, but it is worrying when there is no word at all on an open group buy. Have you tried emailing them directly or checking their socials for any recent replies? If anyone here has had a recent order fulfilled, that would be useful to know.

Latest Hyper7 update (12/10/2026):

<@&796369655282532373> - Mini update

Hello all! Just thought I would give a small update to the current progress and situation.

Firstly, to the people who have said they are OK with the hole issue and ordered a kit, yours are shipping out slow and steady. We aim to have all those orders completed by the end of October. If you filled out the form and said you were OK with the hole issue, and you ordered a kit, please keep an eye on your emails (including your junk/spam folder) over the next few weeks. We're emailing everyone before shipping to double check details and won't ship it until we receive your confirmation.

Secondly, for those who chose to wait, the factory have confirmed they have reworked all the bases and re-drilled the holes. We're just waiting for them to take a look at the top pieces with QC issues that we returned to them. Once that is resolved, they'll be shipped back to us.

Overall our goal is to have all of the Hyper7 kits shipped out before the end of the year. Once the kits are out the way, the big push to get the pre-assembled orders completed begins.

We'll have a better idea of the timeline for Wave 2 shipping near December. If things go well, we can start Wave 2 kit orders alongside Wave 1 pre-assembly.

As always much love for your support and patience!

Half the reason I still enjoy word games is typing the answers out on a decent board. My current daily habit is Krillion Unlimited, a browser trivia game where you type answers to prompts and score by how rare they are. It is free with no daily limit, so it gets a lot of keyboard time from me.
