[IC] GMK CYL Deathly Queen - Taking over from Tyson

Hi Geekhack! As some of you may know, Deathly Queen is a GMK set designed by Tyson & inspired by a very popular anime series, through the years this set has seen many changes and lots of support but in the end due to multiple circumstances it never got to the GB stage.

A couple of months ago, I spoke to Tyson about the future of the set. Although he ultimately wasn't able to run it due to personal circumstances, with his permission, I ended up taking over the project to, after all this years, finally see it run. Although the set has some updates and some changes (main ones being the addition of 2 novelty keys and some changes in the kitting), it's still the same set a lot of us we're looking forward to owning during the pandemic.

(and also what better time to run a jojo's set than during the emission of IMO the best part).

Another one bites the dust

My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.

I've loved this colorway since day one, so I'll probably pick up a set despite never having watched the anime or knowing what it's about. (It's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, right? I have heard of it, at least.)

The R1 -_ホー key is missing a ー (chōonpu) sublegend in its top-right corner. GMK has the right mold for it; you should just update the renders. Speaking of which, the ヲ sublegend on the key to its left should be about the same size as the ワ sublegend underneath (right now it appears ever so slightly smaller in the render).

Please consider adding R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn to the base kit for 65%/75% right column support. Since I've no interest in the anime, I won't be picking up the novelties kit, but I'd still like to be able to outfit my right column properly, without any mismatched keys.

I want to blame the pandemic but honestly it’s really my fault. I dropped the ball, I’m super happy Zetina contacted me! With all the new GMK tech I’m excited to see this set IRL! I did try to reach out to vendors about 4 months ago for this set and was turned away by all of them as they were wanting to see new ICs for the set to see how it does in today’s current market. Zetina will be able to provide new renders and this new IC so hopefully huge vendors will reach out to him!

I’ve got other key sets in mind but haven’t reached out to anyone to render anything new yet but hope to in the coming weeks.

Also this set’s actually 7 years old, I teased this set back in Nov 2019 on my instagram.
