After snooped and gleaned some valuable informations here, I finally decided on a Filco majestouch (brown switches).
I hope it will match my tastes, I've never tried any MX switch except the black (Steelseries 6gv2) which I didn't like, pretty stiff, a lot more than my actual rubber dome (MS X4).

I'm not a good typist (I'd rather say I'm not a typist at all:), the main use of this keyboard will be: fps gaming, chatting & surfing.

I'll give my feelings as soon as it arrives, hope Monday!

Cheers

(Sorry for my english, I'm a 105 keys french layout dude)

Nocturn,

Were you aware that Elitekeyboards are replacing their Filco 10 keyless with Leopold 10 keyless that also happen to be more polished than the ducky dk-1087 ??

Not to say that the dk-1087 is rubbish cause it isn't just that the leopold seemingly has cleaner laser etched keycaps; and comes with extra keys such as escaping man made out of doubleshots. Granted that the leopold costs 20 USD more than the dk-1087; but that may be well worth the cost :X

hiya moogle, yea i was aware of that unfortunately..

i'm the type that when i want something i want it NOW lol... i got this new computer desk a few weeks ago and the keyboard tray is too small.. not enough mouse room for a gamer like me.  my last final for school is today so i want to comfortably play my games so i needed a keyboard asap..

i did have the option of the filco too from the army taiwan thread and i was really really debating between the two and stuck with the ducky... i even canceled my ducky (but reordered again) because i didn't like some of the complaints i read about them.. but then two people on the PCHome thread convinced me to stay with the ducky because the flaws are minimal supposedly.....

but don't say that!!! you're making me sad haha =(  cuz i'm also the type too where i'm always too eager so i buy something and then i wish i woulda waited more =T

another big reason why i didn't wait is because they don't have a specific date on when they're going to start selling them..... and i kinda liked the idea of the detachable usb so i can interchange jus incase i buy another

they do look sweet though and i am a bit jealous =(

i did order black on black keys from a MO thread to make up for it though =)

On the first page, sixty elaborates on this leopold 10keyless.

http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=13258

But what was interesting was the fact that the pictures show what seemingly is better pbt laser etched keycaps compared to the ducky which looks more dirty. So from looks; the leopold lasered look much cleaner than the Ducky. But which of these 2 lasered keys is more durable to wear remains unanswered i am afraid :X

Another thing that interested me was that the Leopold 10 keyless is using the same casing as the Filco but has rounded edges. What i liked about the Filco case is how the keys looked more receded into the casing meaning they are more burrowed. The ducky switches seem to be mounted higher. This was highlighted in Panda's dk-1087 review with pictures provided.

Also i find the dk-1087 look kinda ugly with the blue font for some of those keys; and the ugly rounded led light. I much prefer leopolds rectangular led lights; and standard black white theme with no blue wordings like the 1087.

You can get the details for the 1087 from this review by panda; and compare it to the leopold details posted by sixty.

I'm getting the Ducky dk-9008 which is not the same as the 1087.

I am unsure whether the leopold 104 keys has the same build quality as the 10keyless EK is going to stock up on.

Also i don't think the Leopold has the FN+f9 to disable windows key feature that the Ducky 9008 does.

Even if the Leopold has better lasered etched pbt keycaps; i got some custom geekhack doubleshots i will be using anyway so it's not really gonna affect me much.

So for me it was safer to stick to the ducky 9008 :x

Majestouch received! woohoo!
I didn't expect a so light touch with the brown switches.
Perfect for fps gaming, I'm loving it, really.

I now know why most of the members here have more than one mechanical keyboard, I want some clicky clicky blues now!

Weird; I felt the opposite about the Filco with browns. I thought it was totally boring compared to my Realforce. Plus I thought it was too noisy, so I sold it.

I'm actually of the same opinion of Browns, meh...
Though I get the urge to break them out every once in a while. But I usually end up breaking out the Hi-Tek or Futuba switches as they have more distinct tactile points.

I take requests for making keyboard converters (i.e. *old keyboard* to USB).

When I want a quiet keyboard I reach for a scissor switch.   A lot cheaper too.

Yet you brag about your 87U and its imaginary leetness to anyone who buys a 103U or 86U board? I call BS (and that doesn't mean Buckling Spring).

Congrats!!!

Thank you!  I feel like a 10 years old child today :)

I'd like to try a red switches, although I'm pretty sure they must be too light for my personnal likes.
I'd like to try a Realforce aswell :)

I love that brown sound and i'm sure i'd love the blues too.
Those Realforce must be softer.

I'ts a pity that the new Razer has that ****ty shiny blingbling finish cause it fits my actual blue switches budget.

Lol...some people complain that Realforces DON'T have a ****ty shiny blingbling finish. To each their own; GHers will argue about keyboards forever :D

You can add a pre-amp tube to a keyboard to increase the USB keyroll over.
DO YOU FEEL THE BEAT? I DO.
One Keyboard to DOOM them all, REALFORCE.
