I'm curious if it's possible to get caps with ducky-style LED windows. If not I could just order the Ducky ones.

I got a response from SP about the SVG files. They are fine except that the gabs between areas are too small.

The legendable space is 0.356" wide by 0.427" tall.
We need 0.020" between each 'open space' in order
to properly allow the material to fill the keycap.

She says that the keyboard key is fine.

Space between the head and body (Escape key) is too small.

I will scale the graphics according to the above measures and post them as magnified PNG-s, to make it easier to see where they have to be tweakred.

My most concern is the Trollface ...

The SVGs that SP were sent are scalable aren't they? I would assume that SP have scaled them to fit on the key profile we've chosen. That would leave me to believe that the only way of scaling up further would be to have an escape key with a different profile and larger top. Am I right?

Bugfix, I'm afraid you've got some work to be done.

Originally, I got the info from SP that minimum gap and line thicknesses will be 0.008" which is 0.2mm, but in fact they must be 0.020" or 0.5mm!

update: Line thickness is .2mm, but it would be appreciated if it where something like .3 or .35mm

I also got the prices for LED-window keys:
$4 if 25 are produced and for the un-stepped caps lock (for the Ducky) $6 if 15 are produced.

This means I've got all I need to generate the invoices according to the current votes.

I got the wrong information about line thickness.

Lines must be 0.2mm thick, but better are 0.3 to 0.35mm thick.

The eyes and the original lips are at 0.2mm so might be OK, but are at the edge of measure tolerances. The tounge can be nearer to the lips, as in your version. Also, the gab to the other circle at the bottom is too large, needs only to be 0.5mm. Forget what I told you with the illustrations above.

The keyboard Escape:
Maybe we should leave the head and keyboard where it is and put a neck and a hand in, ie avoid separate 'islands'.

The keyboard cable must be at least 0.2mm thick (again a bit thicker would be appreciated). Cable is 0.16mm, so need to be thicker. Make it longer to compensate for that.

The problem is that the distances must be either 0.5mm minimum, or 0.
Maybe we can get away with a smaller gap to the corner of the keyboard, but the other problem is that the kewybaord must be larger, because the keybaord cord must be thicker (around 0.25 to 0.3mm).

I will send the PNG with 1pixel==0.01mm over to SP and hope they accept this design for production.

Moogle's kits are indeed expensive but remember that you would be hard-pressed to find that row of keys (in particular the white/gray) from another board that you could scrap. They are nearly impossible to find on Cherry boards.

Yeah, I think the closest board would be an MX8100 or G80-8113, but I can't find any that have double-shot keycaps on eBay.
EDIT: Ok, there are some out there, but you're talking about $60+ for a used board that you only need a few keys from. Sounds like it's worth the cost for Moogle's kits.

For the windowed keys, i won't be able to afford this. For myself i've managed to source some from a trashed up Cherry board that happened to have many windowed keys. And the capslock is already being modded to fit.

Anyway, if we want a better deal please ask your friends to get a moogle kit :} There is still time to reduce the price, just need everyones help to market it to other forums !

No - they're saying $24 PER set if 20 sets are spoken for and $20 per set if 25 are spoken for. The sets contain the bottom row of doubleshots for a standard ANSI layout (which in white/gray are damn near impossible to scrounge from a Cherry board) as well as some additional keys.

2 x Command (basically for apple MAC fans)
Function keys: Calc, PC, Mail, Home and F1 to F12 partially with media symbols as on the Ducky keyboard.

This core kit has 2 choices of colors. Either white/beige (with black fonts) or black (with white fonts)
