Dirty TG3 help
« on: Tue, 28 December 2010, 16:01:52 »
I recently bought a used TG3 and it is easily the Champion of Dirty. How in the world do you clean a keyboard with plate mounted switches? I've already spent almost three hours scrubbing the keys and the metal plate but without actually unsoldering all the keys, it's impossible to clean!

I tried dipping a toothbrush in alcohol but the grime doesn't go away. Q-tips are so far the best but you need a ton of them to do any significant cleaning. I don't want to spend a further two hours cleaning it so any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

what about turning the board upside down and laying it on a towel dampened with water and some detergent.

has anyone tried this?

I'll try that although I was just about to give up on it. Let's say I got it about 75% cleaned so far...

Is it one of the backlit or non backlit ones? I'm after a non backlit version since a very long time. If it is and you want to part with it, let me know.
