Its not a mod/custom board. The keyboard is a mini keyboard from the 90s, used in various Chinese laptops, and also in one French "portable computer" called Goupil Club:

He used the Aikon controller to make it PC compatible over USB and greased the switches. He remapped the socket to the according USB pins to keep the removable cable. No other mods have been made.

Korean friends.

Be careful if you hunt for one of these, not all of them have Cherry switches. A low profile ALPS version exists and also a rubber dome variant. All look identical. After getting the rubber variant twice, I have given up hunting French eBay. Good luck!

I hope this is not irrelevant to this Forum, but I have picked up a Goupil Club mini - computer and this is the first forum which came up from Google.  It seems too well - constructed and stylish to dispose of, so I would like to sell it to a good home.  I live in the UK.  ( with reference to CeeSa's message, I am unaware whether it has a rubber dome).  The label says  "SMT - GOUPIL F or E94000 CRETEIL    Serial No: 5150400182   Type: CLUB QWERTY V2 .

Pull a keycap off and find out. If it's not a rubber domes, certainly someone will take it off your hands.

Thank you  for your advice, "lysol".  I am delighted to find that under the ALT button is a plastic oval which holds the button by means of a lug under the button and the oval seems sprung within a metal cube just smaller than the button.  I see no rubber dome.

Since my first posting I have read on a French technical 'museum' online ("obsolete technology", I believe) that only 2000 of these models were made due to uncompetitive pricing, so they are rare and aesthetically remarkable. Thus if selling it on I would be concerned that it not be broken for parts, albeit it is not of functional value.

Thank you again for your interest  and prompt reply.
Best regards
