The shine is easier to see in the first picture. Don't worry about it and just fap.. I mean type away. Post a new picture when you've worn a hole on the spacebar.

A good reason not to have a black spacebar. :p
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

When the first key shows signs of shininess, you have to throw the keyboard away and buy a new one obviously. Can't have that slick surface throwing you off your game and butchering your WPM!

That's going to mess with key feel a lot...

Hey, let's make spacebars shiny so that you can't make them any shinier!

In order to protect your PBT Space bar from becoming shiny, you Geekhackers should wear gloves when typing.

Or you can buy a replacement set  of keycaps from your keyboard supplier.
Keyboard: Filco MJ1 104 brown, Filco MJ2 87 brown, Compaq MX11800, Noppoo Choc Brown/Blue/Red, IBM Model M 1996, CMStorm Quickfire Rapid Black

Hmm, already shiny key set? ;D Would it be the answer, ofcourse it will look horrible in some time... Atleast wear won't be issue, if it's dye or doubleshot...
