Topre Realforce 87U - where to buy in Hong Kong?
« on: Mon, 14 March 2011, 06:16:31 »
I'm going to Hongkong next week, maybe I can spare sometimes to go shopping... Do you know where in Hongkong I can find this keyboard? Look like it's sold out everywhere in US or Taiwan :(

I am also going to Hong Kong and have the same question as well.
Where can I buy Realforce (if any) and Cherry keyboards?

Yeah I took a look at that.
Not much help.

Maybe there really aren't many interesting keyboard shops in HK.
I am hoping someone local or someone who has been can chime in.

To my knowledge there is no Realforce distributor in Hong Kong as of date. Suneon (spelling?) is now the distributor for Filco and some of their products can be found in the computer malls - I can confirm Let's Go Computer in Wanchai Computer Mall stocks Filcos and Blackadders, including the Cherry Red limited (as of last Friday).

My personal theory for the slow adoptation of mechanical keyboards is that Hong Kongers were in the past extreme spendthrifts on computer accessories, unwilling to pay for say, a Logitech, favoring cheaper products, often of questionable quality. However, the enthusiast circle is developing and that will spur the distribution of mechanicals in the near future.

Unfortunately with the earthquake and tsunami in Japan I'm afraid acquiring a Realforce has just been significantly complicated.
