Hmm, somewhat this forum has gone to worse, or is it?

I'm not hanging around as much anymore.  It seems that there are fewer and fewer people here that have a true interest in keyboards and just show up for buying recommendations, "I ****ed up my keyboard, help!,"  and spreading FUD.

I tune in every once in awhile to see if there is anything new in the market, but that's about it.  It's too hard to sift through the crap around here to get a straight opinion on a keyboard anymore.

The 9008 is pretty solid with the exception of the off center ESC key. Did I mention it has an off center ESC key? If I hasn't I'd like to take this time to mention that it have a off center ESC key. I probably would have bought the Tiger 9008G2 if it didn't has the off center ESC key, not to mention the high price or the off center ESC key.

True.  Nobody is saying it's a Realforce, but the 'board certainly isn't crap, nor is it of poor quality in general.  Every 'board in this price range is going to have something that someone won't like.  I didn't like the caps on the Filco, for example.  Instead of looking at the documented evidence and/or buying one for themselves, everyone just wants to **** on it and spread FUD when in reality, it's a great alternative to a Filco at a lower price.

What? Talking about researching things before threadcrapping?  I think we're doing a pretty good job with that.

Luckily I never said it's crap except for the off center ESC key. I guess it may be a design compromise since the 1087/1008 does not have the off center ESC key. It was either build quality or off center ESC key for the ducky engineers.

stop threadcrapping!

if u consider buying a Ducky tenkeyless + Ducky PBT keycaps then your answer is yes, but you'll still not get the off center ESC key.

It's not really off-center.  The Esc key is aligned correctly with the rest, the opening in the case is too wide on the right side.

Yes, it does look off-center; just clarifying.

How come they don't make a tenkeyless version with PBT caps to begin with?

Good question.  I would wait on the tenkeyless in any case, as they are redesigning it due to some quality issues (case breaking, etc.).

9xxx series are considered as a premium model with premium keycaps.
However I still think that PBT keycaps are suck for gaming. They are insanely slippery.

I don't think their sales are quite there to offer a lot of versions.

The seller has 20 feedback on Ebay after being there for MONTHS.

Anybody know the OCN Keyboard sales numbers?  I'm SURE a bunch of OCN moderators hang here incognito.

Yeah, I wish they'd offer the White tenkeyless that included the matching black wristrest.  Someone should make white tenkeyless wristrests.

I think PCHome put the kibosh on a lot of keyboard retailers once they opened up shop.  They're not really full-service or as easy to buy from as Elitekeyboards, but who would want to start a store with products you can buy elsewhere without being able to beat them price-wise?  Looking at the vendor forum, the eBay seller doesn't seem to be entirely too helpful for being the main US distributor (other than maybe Tankguys).

I just wish people would do a better job staying on topic.

Well. Here's my 2 cent for what it worth.

The few people who hang around this forum are keyboard savvy and passionate about the device.

Most of the questions are pretty simple.
-   Problem solving
-   Opinion
-   Review
-   Buying guide

It usually takes very few responses to nail the issue. The rest is just noise from lonely/social people who wants to talk with others.

That unnecessary noise can be quite entertaining. I don't see anything wrong with having a little fun around such a boring subject as a damn keyboard. I mean as long as it is respectful.

The wrist rest is tits.  It's a little on the short side, but I like that in general.  I certainly don't like rests that are too tall.

I thought it was fairly similar to the Filco rest just single-level.  I'm sure the 3-star from Elitekeyboards is about the same.  I don't remember if they have a tenkeyless version, though.

EDIT:  The Ducky rest is very wide.  Keep that in mind if you're in the market.  It's about .5" wider, if not a little more, than the average rest.

I want to get a Leopold fullsize 'board when they come out, but I don't really like the Unicomp-style label that adorns the lock light area.  That's one place they could have taken a styling cue from Filco or Ducky.  I like the in-key lighting a little better than the light cluster.  Leopold/Archiss did a very nice job on the tenkeyless, though.

I liked that style on the Realforce 103's.

Topre did pretty well with the Realforce sticker, but I still like the Filco or in-key style better.  The pics that have floated around of the Leopold fullsize 'boards, though, are pretty ugly.

Hey Stallion - long time, seems... good to see you again

Apologies, but I don't quite get it and I hate to feel only vaguely aware of something - Could someone please explain what is "threadcrapping" in more specific yet simplistic examples? Are we talking about the same thing as "derailing" or not?
