Who in that company thought this would be a remotely good idea? "I've got it, iPads are popular right? Ever notice how they have a flat on screen keyboard? That must be what customers want! If people truly enjoyed the feel of typing on 'keys', wouldn't apple have included a keyboard?"

A touch screen keyboard that lacks the advantages of it being a screen is a waste of engineering.  If that is true, then it belongs on thinkgeek along with that dooms-day usb hub (4 ports for $59?!?!).

The keyboard is done for once you can use these like a real keyboard - i.e. resting your fingers on it and tapping to hit a key - AND a touchscreen once you start making gestures with just a few fingers.

Having to buy a new keyboard for a different layout seems ****ty though, unless they are talking about releasing a new "firmware" bundle.
IBM Model F XT + Soarer's USB Converter || Cherry G80-3000/Clears

The storage list:
IBM Model F AT || Cherry G80-3000/Blues || Compaq MX11800 (Cherry brown, bizarre layout) || IBM KB-8923 (model M-style RD) || G81-3010 Hxx || BTC 5100C || G81-3000 Sxx || Atari keyboard (?)

This medical keyboard is "contaminant proof" and has tactile feedback.  Maybe this touch keyboard will be cheaper.

Minebea should've just stuck to making old Xbox power supplies...

Then again, people don't seem to mind using keyboards with no tactile feedback these days.
