Is it the Browns, the Leopold Browns or just my keyboard?
« on: Sun, 01 May 2011, 01:17:08 »
Hi people,

I was wondering whether anyone could tell me if a newb switching to the MX Browns is prone to holding down the space bar too long or something?
Because while I'm typing I see a lot of  this. Which is two spaces, to be clear, popping up randomly.

I am not sure whether this is my problem as a newb, but I definitely don't have this problem with  the new Leo MX Blues I was using.
I was wondering whether it might be my keyboard, technical  problem or something (see it just did it again! Honest, )... there again too.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.

you can try making the repeat delay in your control panel --> keyboard longer
What happens when you discover GeekHack:
[strike]Black Ducky dk1087 Cherry (Brown)
Topre Realforce 103UB 55g
Topre Realforce 103UB

Adjusting the repeat delay would be an easy way to see if the switch contacts are sticking (or your thumb rests on it too hard) versus a key bouncing error (or controller debouncing; registering twice).  Quick and easy.
Currently GMMK Pro: lubed 68g U4T, FR4 plate, extra gaskets, etc

try to type stuff without your thumb near the space bar. If the spaces still pop out, then something is wrong. Otherwise its probably your thumb's doing.

I had this problem with my old Filco with Cherry Blues -- I just reseated the spacebar keycap, and after that it never happened again.

Good luck with yours!
