Bay Area Maker Faire keyboard booth!
« on: Thu, 19 May 2011, 06:24:47 »
Hey everybody,

I have a booth at the Bay Area maker faire to show Frankenstein, my DIY made from scratch keyboard. I'll also bring a lot of other keyboards that everybody can come try out. I plan to bring Goldtouch, RealForce, Kinesis Advantage, Filco Blue, IBM type M, MCK-142 (ALPS switches), Scorpius M10 (Cherry Blue).

If you want to try typing on these keyboards, come to my booth at the Maker Faire! And we can yak about keyboards, making and hacking keyboards, etc. I'm not selling anything, so this is purely a DIY keyboard hackers project display.

Hope to see some of you guys there!

Since I cant make the 5000 mile trip, I demand PICS, lots of them. So anyone that goes...bring a camera and share.

Ah, very sorry I mentioned this late. I was busy and procrastinating a bit. Still trying to fix things, though! I'm very nervous and excited as this is my very first maker faire! I'm sure there will be more to come, and I will try to mention it sooner next time!

Ricercar: Oh I'll be so happy if you visit! Not many people are interested in makers, I suppose. My booth is at Expo Hall  104. here's a link to the description: http://makerfaire.com/pub/e/5238

Yarrgh. I'm actually at the far end of California this weekend and visiting the Bay Area just a couple of days after the fair. This is depressing. There's plenty of stuff I'd love to see there.

Have fun, post pictures!

I wouldn't say it's disinterest, just location. We've got keyboard people from around the world here at GH, but only people in driving distance to the faire can go. :car: Wow, finally found a use for that smiley.

Actually, the mod section here would be a good place to share worklogs and such.

Um, that page shows http://KLIQKEYBOARDS.COM as your website, but it lands me in some junk page full of ads. Do you have a working website?

Oh man, a little more notice would have been great. I would have loved to have gone met you and checked out the gear. :(  DANG!  I know of the Maker Faire, but thought it might be next weekend.

I was in Big Sur instead :)

Hi Sordna,

I didn't do anything with that domain, cuz I didn't think anyone would be interested. I used Frankenstein at work full time for 9 months, and most people looked at it and go, "why?"

Just got back from the Maker Faire, I am totally spent. It was awesome talking keyboard 10 hours on Sat, 8 hours on Sunday nonstop! I thought I'd just meet a few people who know keyboards, and it turned out there are way more at the Maker Faire. It's like meeting soul mates by the dozen!

Dammit, Maker Faire tickets cost money. And they hate it when you make your own tickets.
