Hello world!
Quick introduction before I start wading into some of the forums!
I'm a long-time ergonomic believer, starting from 2000 when I thought I would have to quit work as a programmer due to RSI and wrist pain.
Back then, I bought a MS Ergo keyboard and a 3M Rennaisance mouse (the ball version) and the pain went away.
I've since been through three different MS ergo boards - the keys get sticky after a while and they are not very ... satisfying ... somehow to use.
Used a logitech split hands ergo board for a while but that board had the home/end/delete/insert/pgup/pgdn keys all in a weird order - more trouble than it was worth!
Just bought a nearly-new GoldTouch board, which is nice. Still need to get used to the layout, but at least I can see why they've gone away from classical key ordering.
Also, replaced the 3M with a Zalman FPSGUN which is nearly as comfortable and has a scroll wheel.
I'm quite intrigued by the rapture accorded to fully mechanical keyboards! I'd love to try a Kinesis Advantage board, or the mythical Truly Ergonomic. Here in Australia, the local distributor wants $616 for the Kinesis! And the $AU is worth MORE than the $US!!!
Oh, and my current laptop is a Lenovo X61T running Ubuntu - nice enough keyboard for light use. (I draw a bit using MyPaint/Inkscape. The Wacom touchscreen is like magic!)
Right. Enough about me...
