Hi guys,

Newbie here. I've been reading around since i'm looking for a new keyboard for general use along with a lot of gaming.

Since the Razer Ultimate has a lot of QA issues, that's pretty much out of the picture.

From my reading, I've narrowed it down to 3 keyboards (MX Browns due to silence):

1. Leopold FC200RT/AB
2. Filco Majestouch
3. Das Keyboard Model S Professional Silent

What do you guys think? Know good places where to buy em cheap (i'm also a student so i could avail of sites that offer student discounts)?

If you want cheap then you might want to look at the PLU87 - it's a Chinese kb you can find on ebay that greatly resembles the Filco and is available with Cherry Browns.

or if you aren't 100% sure you want browns, get a Compaq MX11800 to try 'em before you spend real money on a new board.  they show up cheap on the 'bay.  Alternately look for a Cherry POS board.  some of them have browns and some have clears though (which I prefer) but on the upside the layout is closer to that laid down by the One True Keyboard lo these many years ago - I'm actually using one w/ clears at work right now and rather like it, despite the ISO enter and funky looks.
Filco Majestouch-2 with Cherry Corp. doubleshot keys - Leopold Tenkeyless Tactile Force with Wyse doubleshots - Silicon Graphics 9500900 - WASD V1 - IBM Model M 52G9658 - Noppoo Choc Pro with Cherry lasered PBT keycaps - Wyse 900866-01 - Cherry G80-8200LPBUS/07 - Dell AT101W - several Cherry G81s (future doubleshot donors) (order of current preference) (dang I have too many keyboards, I really only need two)

Thx for the reply.
how good are these? Seems they're not NKRO. Checked the price on ebay and it's $80 + $20 shipped to the US. That's about the same a Leopold or Das

You can get 'em from a group buy here for cheaper. And honestly, they're great boards. Even though they're 2KRO, I've used mine for gaming without a problem.

Just look around in the Group Buy forum. Usually you place your order by posting in the thread or PM'ing the thread starter. Then you pay with PayPal usually. All fairly simple.

Thanks man. From the 3 i listed, which would you personally recommend?
I'm currently slightly for the Das Professional Silent.

NKRO mattering in anything except the most extreme scenarios is a myth built up by a select few, don't worry about that

Filco or Ducky? Again im looking for 104 or 108 with MX Browns.
Which do you guys recommend?

104 or 108?  where are you from?  If you don't live outside the US, you'll never encounter anything except ANSI and boards with the giant J shaped enter (AKA the BIGG Ass asain enter key).

I wouldn't get anything except the 104 unless you must.  108 has the inverted L-shaped Enter.

The Filco feels nicer than a ducky, both to type on and just in sheer weight (I have both).  Ducky has an aluminium plate and the filco is steel.  It doesn't really make that much difference, but some people care about these things.
Keyboards:
Filco 104 MX Brown (Otaku) - FKBN104M/NPEK 黒い空
Ducky TKL MX Brown/Blue 80% (White) - 1087-F 白の空
KBC Poker MX Red with PBT Key Caps - PFCN6000

Out of those two, I'd choose the Filco, just because I own one and have never tried a Ducky.

108 has the extra keys like on a Dell for Mail/Internet/etc.
