Is there a tenkeyless black IBM Keyboard?

I was wondering, a friend of mine said he had an IBM keyboard with no number keys, and in black. Does anyone know of the model number, or if they really do have one?

Also, I was wondering if there was a list of all of the IBM keyboard models out there. Thanks!

I haven't heard of a buckling springs one in black, just white and industrial.  I can thinking of one(IBM SpaceSaver II) rubber dome and one  (M4-1) "buckling rubber sleeve" black IBM tenkeyless keyboards but figure that's not what you're looking for.

You could always make your own, :wink:

In black, the only ones I know of are rubber domes.

If you mean all the different IBM black tenkeyless keyboards then I'm not aware of a list and I already told you what I know above, should be enough to google.  FYI neither of the ones I listed are made any more but you can still find them for sale.

I've got one of the space savers II.  It's pretty good for a rubber dome.  If you need proof of concept for the miniguru - then get one.  I swap to it occasionally at work (and the list includes a kinesis advantage, a filco blue and a choc mini...)

Some of the keys would benefit from stabilisers - I used capslock for backspace and it isn't the nicest key to hit off centre.  

I want one with cherry brown switches - it can't be that much to ask, could it?

The M13 is black but is standard sized (and its legends are easy to disappear)

Not black but best looking IBM buckling spring SSK with black keys I ever saw (purely my opinion) was posted here by Ripster.  A real one would be quite costly for you'd need to find an industrial mini (uncommon and expensive) and a black M13 for the keycaps.  No hand painting in the following pic:



I "reproduced" it here for my daily driver on the cheap but it's really not looking as good: industrial Model M (real industrial but full-sized, not mini) + blank black keys from Unicomp.  Not anywhere near as good looking as Ripster's industrial mini in G.I. Joe gear but it's a start ; )

A Spacesaver II with cherry brown switches would be very cool indeed.  I should have said that I have one of these as well.  It was my primary keyboard around the time I first found geekhack.  I still like it, the feel is a bit mushy but I have worse, the form factor is very good, and the trackpointer is a huge plus for me.  Here is a link showing the internals.  There are more pictures there if you poke around, try clicking the "index" link at the bottom right of the page to start.  I think this is the site where somebody tried modding one by cutting little notches in the side of the rubber domes to lower dome resistance, something I personally don't plan to try.
