So you're not going to get the ergoDOX? You're going to make your own? In a box? :P How are you going to get a PCB? Could you explain further, I'm curious.

I will document the design after I have done more; I want to have the keycaps in hand before I do the keywells, so that I can guarantee I don't end up with any profile problems. One possibility is modified Kinesis keywells; the other is column-based 'plates' of either acrylic or aluminum. Either way, the keywells will be just wired point-to-point. I'll experiment with the thumb keys after the wells are done. I have relatively small hands so the central thumb columns of the Kinesis are awkward for me.

Quote
Thanks, that's what I thought, but was just confirming. Wouldn't the profiles of the keys be incorrect when compared to other keys on the same row though?

It depends how you intend to use them; if they're part of a separate key cluster they don't need to match anything else.

I believe it's like this, not keys. (That picture is the ABS version, I assume.)

I rather like the symbolRGBY modifiers.  I think all of my orders got killed with the massive reduction of sets.  So, is that list a couple of pages back all that is left of GBround4?  Or are there still things available, like BLOOD/PIRATES (I guess that was killed because it's blood), NOIR/PIRATES, and RED/WHITE KEYBOARDRUNNER, and what of Mac modifiers OPTION and COMMAND?

Will ROUND3 kits have a grey or black \| key? Seems like in the actual round 3 group buy they had black ones even though you'd expect it to be grey.
Layout: Colemak
Fastest typing speed: 131 WPM on typeracer, 136 WPM on 10fastfingers.
Daily driver: Filco Tenkeyless MX Brown with ergonomically weighted, lubed springs.
Ergo keyboards: Truly Ergonomic, Kinesis Advantage, Ergodox

The set I just got from another member has two versions of that key; one in the alphanumeric color and one in the modifier color.

I'm pretty sure the only way to get the pirate-flag is via RETRO or NOIR (/PIRATEFUN or /PIRATE125 is available at both sets)

Oh, dammit!  I forgot that PIRATE only comes in FUN and 125 (both row 1 profile, right?)  I want to deck out an entire keyboard in PIRATE.  I guess I'll have to do my own GB at some point.

PIRATEFUN is Row1
PIRATE125 is Row4 => modifiers with 1.25 units

WHAT??  How did you get a ROUND3 set?  I want one of those, or three!  :-P

Oh, that reminds me, maybe I missed it among the 12394807123 Round Four posts... did we get the kerning corrected?!  And will Escape read "Escape" or "Esc    " or "  Esc  "?

I also have a question for y'all with ROUND3 keycaps: how do they fit on a Filco Mestouch 2?  They don't have the DCS Family profile, right, or do they?

I left some of the popular single keys in. But I would not complain if someone organises a group buy for these, or if the added to the now separately run BLOOD grup buy. I'm not really interesed in keys which come in colors different to what the remaining styles are.

OPTION and COMMAND should still be available with the remaning styles.

OK, let's keep it like it is. I just thought about RGBY and not symbols vs. text anyway.

Hey, I tried to delete my entire order and re-order so that the only purchase I have is the retro set and the spacebar, but I still have the gamer set attached. Also what is the count on the retro set, and the chances of it dropping back down to the original price that many of us were lured to of 80> O_O?

Did you try to remove it by ordering 0 of it?

Chances of the original price are 0 unless it gets more orders!

There existed both. I doubt I will keep the exotic gery variant (costs are higher if we do this key in 2 different colors!).

The very dark grey version looks more symmetric to the Tab key.

ROUND3 is DCS and they have abount the same profile as Cherry keys, except for the bottom row (row 4) which is a bit more angled.

Also, they fit the Filcos.

But it should be with just the grey instead of just the black, no? In the retro and spherical sets the \| is the color of the alpha/numerical keys, not the color of the tab key. Also the Dolch keyboard that this is trying to copy has that key in grey. I'll still order it if it's only in black, but it seems to me that grey makes more sense.

I will change it to the modifier color in all styles, because of the lower costs.

Yea, if it's only a dollar or two of difference then I think logic is the better choice. If the difference is like $4 or more then I can understand though.

Surely both logic and symmetry dictate that the \| key match the alphanumerics?  If you make it dark then you will have more dark keys on the right-hand side than you do on the left.

I know that it's probably not gonna happen and it's too late to be adding things but it wouldn't be possible to make a custom star key like they're making for the 'tsangan add-on' in 'red on black' and 'cream cheese and green', would it? :P

Well if you read around he's trying to unload a lot of the kits from this to another person to run. I fully understand but I may just spend the money I have set aside for the retro kit.

Still hoping though as I just traded for a white phantom that would look great with that set on it.

Yes, I run it manually. There are not so many orders coming in that it would be workt to run it every second.

A web-based solution would be nice, but would not change the fact that the key caps are too expensive.
