Are lexmark less popular? I want this but I'm afraid this will go for $300 as usual. :(

This could easily go around $300 as it appears here.

Some of the lexmarks used cheaper plastics. And being in '93, I wouldn't doubt it.

Space saving... *grumbles*, I need a numpad. Playing eye of the beholder is almost impossible.

Was in contact with the seller. How do I go about getting a straight cable for the keyboard if I win? PS2 or USB; doesn't matter. He said its the typical coiled/phone cord style now.

The strait ones are very rare. Good luck finding one.

The lexmarks are more prone to cracking. Even unicomp doesn't use the old-style plastic of the early 80's Model Ms... it's just too expensive.

Go buy yourself an early 80's model M and compare it with a lexmark if you want to compare.

EDIT:
I'm not trying to turn this into a "all early model Ms are better" sort of argument.

I saw this when it was at $100, and figured maybe the some people didn't see it due to their searches not picking it up.  So I had a bit of hope it would go for less than normal.  Checked back later and saw it up to $250 already, and immediately figured it was due to a post here on GH.  Sure enough, came here and saw this post.  So much for any of us with hopes of one slipping by the masses.

They used to sell some SSK shells.
but they also claim all of them are out of stock now,
so I wonder they just bought all old stock, not the toolings  for making them.

$250 with 6 hours to go. Might knock on $300. Too rich for my blood.

Unicomp just doesn't care, to put it simply. They have all of the necessary hardware and components to create any keyboard their imagine can conspire.

But since they don't have a dedication to do something big, they'll always remain an obscure reseller of oddly coloured Model Ms.
