good lord... I had a friend put his cat on a diet, and the cat lost so much weight, but kept the sagging skin, lol, everywhere the cat walked it was practically cleaning the floor with the saggy skin (cat died this year, was 16ish old stray). I liked that fat cat more than their current cat (that grew up along with the fat one) cuz for some unknown reason i'm the only person that cat hisses and bites at, but i'm also the only one besides the owners that play with the cat, everyone else just looks at it, i actually pick him up tho! but cuz of that cat, we'll never have cats, cats aren't like dogs!

Big bunny is BIG!

My favorite pet was my cat Fred.  That little guy lived to be 19 years old, and knew how to bash his head into objects on command :D

what you feed him/her? lol when i had 2 dwarf bunnies they were so small that the smallest bag of alphfa would go stale after a month, their feeder was always full (vet told me to make sure they always had alphafa as main diet) a bowl full of fresh pellets and the occasional carrot/lettuce. And yes i always kept them in a cage cuz i had my killer dog at the same time, don't worry it was a mansion i took one side off each of the 2 largest cages they had and zip tied it together, it was like the size of a 300 gallon tank.

He eats pellet food but has cereal and veg as a treat. He only costs around £8 a week to feed including treats.
I will take a photo tomorrow and show how much room he has, he lives in the kitchen but a lot of the time the door is open and he goes in any room except the bedrooms (not bunny proof).

i ran techflex on all my wires to bunnyproof my area, it was easy to slip the wires in and it was so dense that the rabbits couldn't get into the wires, i had a non dwarf early 2001, was playing a ps2 game and wondering why i was lagging, couldn't move... turns out rabbit was chewing cable as i was playing.

My VILG = Very Important Little Guy

This is Smoochie. I sometimes call him Doodle. He is in the hospital tonight, and may not make it. I'm heartbroken. Everything that seemed important this morning is meaningless to me now. [ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 30170[/ATTACH]

Today is my saddest day. Smoochie Doodle passed away last night in the hospital. My family for 10 years. Our morning ritual of sitting outside in the sun and trees, me with coffee and Smoochie with honey covered banana chips and apple was often the highlight. Today is the first day without him and I miss him terribly. Always value what you have.

The last photo of Smoochie on the way to the vet yesterday. Right after this picture I held Smoochie the rest of the way to the vet hospital.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I really do appreciate the sentiments. I also appreciate those of you mentioning about your own losses (mostly via pm) as a reminder that this isn't just me, which I of course know, but need to hear. My perspective has been rattled by the sudden, unexpected and drastic nature of losing Smoochie. I had no idea when I took him to the vet that I would not see, hear, or touch him again. I fully anticipated another 10 years of having him throw grapes, freezing when a raptor would fly by, going bonkers when I would give him a banana chip, and his ritual sunrise/sunset squawks. I've got no one to hang out with and drink my am coffee with outside. I still imagine I hear him. That really hurts.

Saturday I put him in one of the most awesome places I've ever been. If any of you ever have the opportunity to travel to the Monterey/Carmel area of California, I highly recommend the Point Lobos State Preserve as a stop. You can walk maintained paths up onto cliffs and sit on benches overlooking the Pacific, seal island, bird island, coves, tide pools, wildlife galore, and surrounded by pines and cypress trees and native plants. Seals, otters, gulls, star fish, etc. A stunning place for an hour or a day. Diving, snorkeling, kayaking can be done and you can take in some history of the whaling that used to occur a hundred years ago. Google it.

Unfortunately, you can't bring your pets :(

This is the location in the preserve where I buried Smoochie about 10 paces from the walking path behind a bench (the dark shadow dot on the path):

Hey, Monkey, where have you been all this time?

I'd try having monkey as a pet if it is legal/affordable at all. Maybe also a Jaco parrot when I settle down.
