GLWS OP, though it looks like you might have some competition from others that didn't like the switches

I'm not sure if it's implied that it isn't, but is it TKL?

I'd be interested to use it for gaming, if it is., although I WAS looking for a white>black.

I don't know first hand, I was looking for browns and somebody had suggested that clears would be a comparable experience. (Tactile, non-clicky) TBH my first hand experience with mech keyboards is for typing at work, I'm using an old board with ALPS complicated whites. Still using a rubber dome KB for my gaming at home (G15)

Why, is it retarded to use clears for gaming?

Lol, I wasn't implying that it was, I would assume that it would be because the clears are a less common switch, if I understand correctly. It's not that i'm specifically looking for clears to game on, truth be told I was looking for, and still am, Browns as well as clears.

Its weird, I type faster with clears than any other switch. I think its because I never bottom out due to the strong springs.

in my admittedly limited time on the board i've seen a couple people claim that they type faster with clears.

Then again I suppose i've seen people claim that they type faster with pretty much any switch of your choosing as well, so i guess the point is moot.

I got mine last night, and have been using it at work all day... I have to say I'm a big clears fan and I think the Leopold is a great board BUT - and I probably should give myself some time to break this one in before offering this as my final opinion - I prefer my Filco because the Costar stabilizers, when properly greased, do feel better than the Cherry ones.

That said, of course, Filco doesn't sell a board with clears (I had to make it myself,) while Leopold does (at least for now) so there's that.

I'm considering it. It'll be my first "Modern" mech board and I have to figure out what the hell my paypal info was on my old bank account that still has money in it, lol.

only things i'm not thrilled about are it being black and non-otaku but it's not a deal breaker.

Expect a PM about it sometime soon.

In all honestly it's mostly because i'll be replacing the keycaps down the road and I don't really care to have half with writing, and half without if i want to mix and match colours etc. Most of the keycaps i've seen so far (I know, not all) come without any writing on em so it would look kind of weird with both, but it isn't a dealbreaker.

Mostly it's just figuring out what account I used for Paypal, which i'll look at when I get home.

what you said about replacement key caps not having lettering is definitely not the case there are even places like WASD keyboards where you can get a custom set to your liking

How many people actually don't like clears vs, how many people bought the clears assuming they could flip it for a quick profit?

I received mine today and I absolutely LOVE IT, I want a full size Leopold with clears for work now :(

When I got my first mechanical keyboard (Filco Majestouch). I got to try all the switches at the store. I actually liked the clears to the brown, but they didn't have clear. But I don't know, I've kinda got to loving my browns I bought.

I bought this just to try out plate mounted clears. Of course, I did assume I would be able to sell it quickly and only lose 20 USD. But I guess I was wrong...

I agree, if you don't like the clears just hold on to it for a while, then try to sell it...  I think a lot of people pre-ordered thinking "holy crap!  I can has plate mounted clears!" since there was literally no way to get them previously without rolling your own, and probably there'll be a rash of sales over the next couple weeks when the people who figure out that they don't actually prefer them sell their boards.

But that said, I'm glad I have mine and don't plan on selling it.  In fact I left it at work so I can break it in and hopefully form an opinion of it.  I do love my Filco with clears, even if it is one pingy mofo.
