Another power outage... wonder how many days this one is going to be.

Time to ponder draining the pipes.

How many inches of snow you get?  We didn't lose power, but lost about half of our trees :/

I hope we don't get snow untill next year here in Finland. Not that it causes much of real trouble...
So I should add something useless here yes? Ok, ok...

I've lived in the same house since 2003 and never lost power for more than a few minutes. Until yesterday. We were out for 12 hours yesterday. The sump pump quit and the basement got wet. I don't remember any other October when the water table was so high.

RSI prevention recipe:[/B] Kinesis Contoured, Colemak layout, touch typing, Contour Design Rollermouse,  Logitech TrackMan Wheel, Logitech m570 trackball, "workrave" break timer software, "awesome" window manager, tenkeyless boards, cherry browns, Wang 724 with "ghetto green" ALPS, standing desk and/or comfy adjustable chairs, stress reduction, computer time reduction.

Fun non-ergonomic things: bolt modded Model M Space Saving Keyboards with new springs, Kensington Expert Mouse v7, Unicomp Endurapro, Northgates

We've been in this house for 8 years and this year is the first time we've had an outage more than a couple hours (and even those were quite rare).  We got about 6-8inches of snowfall that quickly compressed down to 3-4" max and only 1" of slush in many places.  My snow-thrower was more of a water pump at times.

The outage from the hurricane was about 3.5 days, so I'm not too hopeful for this outage being that even more CL&P customers have no power this time.  The part that really gets me is that we had power through the whole storm, then just randomly mid-morning the next day it dropped out.

The other possibility in this state is UI.  I have no idea of the history as to why they exist at all.  They control a very tiny pocket of the state.  On the other hand if I had UI then I would have a much bigger chance of having power or never having lost it... only 2.75% of their customers don't have power.

Technically from New York, not NE, but where I live we got over a foot of snow.  We didn't personally lose power, but most places around us did, and many are still out.  I was forced to drive in the brunt of the storm, and about half of the traffic lights on the road were non-functional.  A gas station lost power just as I drove by, and there were about 6 wrecks along the road.

Between hurricanes, earthquakes, random blizzards, and golf ball sized hail (over the summer,) I'd say this is the worst weather our area has ever seen in any year on record.
