I found out about this tour on overclock.net. Could I be allowed to join a future round? I'm in Kansas.

Cool!  Do you have a link to the overclock.net thread?

For those that were interested, my Rosewill with Reds came in today and I am typing this with it. Here's a mini-review:

First thing that I noticed is that I am going to have to take some time to get used to this. The posture and the height of the board is a bit foreign to me, and I may benefit with a wrist rest or something. I can type much lighter than I usually do and everything will register. I do kind of wish that I went with Blues to try not bottoming out, but as I mentioned before, this will be for work so the quieter the better. I don't know if I can type without bottoming out because of the no feedback, but I like the sound of bottoming out and the lightness of the keys feel very good. Typing is amazingly nice with this keyboard and I can already see me loving this when I'm at work. The numpad buttons seem to have even less force in their springs than the letter keys and they are super crisp. I use the numpad a lot at work so this is a very big plus.

The keyboard has a nice weight to it and doesn't move when I'm typing. The squeaky Spacebar that plagued the reviews is apparent in my board, but this should be easily fixed with some grease which I will be buying once I'm done with this =P. I'm also using the PS/2 connector to the computer and as far as I can tell, NKRO is active and working just fine.

Overall, this is a great keyboard and I am really loving it. I'll give this a preemptive "BUY IT!" recommendation but will give a final recommendation after a couple of weeks typing with it. Or you know, if you don't hear me complain about anything, it's probably worth getting. I know this isn't the place for this but thank you for your time. So happy for my first mechanical keyboard!

I sent brsp25 a follow-up PM asking for the tracking number, but I haven't heard from him in days.  His last activity was on the 8th.  I suspect the tester has not shipped. :(

If this ever comes to Minnesota - I would be interested.  I know a lot of people who would be interested in trying it out - especially since many don't understand why anyone would spend so much money on a keyboard...

He's been blocked from posting for some reason (above and beyond the Chrome/JavaScript issues).  He was communicating with me via PM though, until a few days ago.

Now, the only reasonable excuses are he is sick, injuried, or this is his final exam week, if he is a student.  Even then, a simple post or PM update back to hashbaz would only be the reasonable thing to do.

I am very interested in getting in on this for any future rounds. I've been tempted to purchase a mechanical keyboard for years now, but with no access to try any of them, it's hard to sink $100+ into it.

I should mention that this is my first post and I just now registered. But if you can look past that, I promise to be prompt and responsive with my participation.

Located in Michigan, USA.

Thanks =)

Faster, not really. I can only go pick it up because It wont go out for delivery since she just holds it there. Having packages go missing is a plus.. if they do go missing the boss lady is never happy

I am sorry to hear that the communication has been broken, the whole thing was going so smoothly. I just ordered a WASD Custom with Blues so I can wait to use the tester. Now I have an excuse to get another keyboard if I like a different switch

took some time getting used to it but i make do now.

anyway, i have most of the switches that were in the tester (red, black, brown, blue) but i really wanted to try out the others (ergo, clear, tacto, green and grey)

i thought i was going to dislike the clear seeing as they were heavier than browns but i was pleasantly surprised. i liked them more then the ergo clears which didn't seem much different than browns. although i dont think i could use it for a long period of time. seems like fatigue would kick in after awhile. but i do like the tactical feedback

but i fell in love with the green switch. they seem to be heavier blues.. which is just awesome since they have that audible feedback which i love about blue switches. too bad they won't sell them anymore or else i'd love to have a full keyboard with greens.

not a huge fan of reds, too light IMO.
never liked black switches since they are too heavy and feel too mushy since they're linear.
tacto blacks are too heavy, and greys are also too heavy (i think my ricercar spos has a grey switch in the spacebar, haven't checked)
and, well, blues are just awesome and they are my favorite switch :D same goes with browns!

i'll try to get some pictures tomorrow with my crappy iphone. im working near the mountains and they are super close and make a beautiful background. but hopefully it doesn't rain :(

i'll try to get this shipped to skoobs tomorrow so he can get it before the weekend.

I appreciate the concept, but wouldn't it be hard to really get a feel of the switch without actually typing on a full keyboard?

Yes, typing on three or four keys won't give you the same sense as a full keyboard.  It's much, much better than nothing though.

^this. I had no previous experience with mechanicals, and the numpad helped me narrow down my preferences a lot. Also not sure if everyone is doing this, but definitely test it with both hands! The 3 keys each (litster's numpad) is 75% of a WASD cluster so that helped me decide too.

I think next time, we need a deposit.  First on the list paypal the tester owner, second on the list paypal the first on the list upon receiving.  So on and so forth, the switch owner will paypal back to the last on the list to complete the circle.

And PM to GH identity is not enough, we will also need email addresses.

Next time just put the followings as requirements before you send out the tester:

- Social Security
- Date of Birth
- One verified credit card
- First born (if any) for deposit, will get back after tester has been returned

I can think of more but these should at least be the minimum.
