The LCD buttons on the top right are for macros. The thing is, the game doesn't have macros.

I would have to agree on some of the points raised here. Buying a keyboard like that is like buying a concept car from a car show. Even their Razer-blade is crazy methinks.

Personally I can't think of a game that would be played better -- in terms of accuracy -- with a touch pad. Except for cheesy games found on some smart phones now. This is probably better used for other applications rather than games - Photoshop and video editing stuff maybe? I don't really know. Besides who ever looks down on their keyboard while gaming is a dead man, in game at least - so I also don't see much point in the graphics on the keyboard. If I wanted to see stats i'd get a 2nd screen and look for a game that supports a 2nd screen.

That keyboard will still sell lots though due to razer's amazing - 'apple like' - marketing strategy. People will get it for bling me thinks.

Besides.. I only have two hands... I definitely wont replace my mouse with a track/touch pad. Even motion sensing will be better than this.

Cool, but probably a waste of money.

The razer mice arn't bad tho, I really like the shape of a few of them. Otherwise, yeah the stuffs overpriced and overrated.

Exactly. Overpriced and overrated. I hope some company finally thinks of designing quality mechanical keyboards and -- designs it in a way they can offer it at a lower price. Instead of going this path. Ironic I have a razer black widow - but I got it because its the cheapest mechanical keyboard I could find and the feel is not that bad.

Yah I'm not a fan of their keyboards but I love my deathadder. Just never updated the FW for fear of bricking it.

Why would you want to change Firmware?

A friend of mine uses a Blackwidow Ultimate and apart from me personally not being a fan of backlighting and rubber-coated keys, the board seems solid...

Its solid for regular users apart from a few kinks in the keyboard layout. One doesn't normally de-solder the switches on the board I believe a regular user will just use a keyboard as it is.

Maybe that is also the reason why they can offer the razer blackwidow elite for a cheaper price point than other keyboards. -- They cheaped out on some of the less-noticed quality points like the circuit board and solder quality. Seriously though if I can make a choice between pay an extra 10 dollars to make sure that the pcb and solder quality is top notch and in tip top shape for removing and replacing switches at my fancy I wouldn't. Personally I don't feel the need to replace switches -- if eventually one breaks -- i'll send it for warranty. If warranty is over then my cheapo 86USD keyboard has probably lived its life already. But that's just because I'm just a regular consumer.

Razer goes for style over substance every time.  It's not surprising that a company would be going after the segment of consumers with that offer the highest potential ROI.  A lot of people will buy that and be extremely satisfied with it.  Sometimes I think we forget that we are a very small minority here.

I have the Deathadder, I haven't owned it long enough to say if it will last but so far so good. I'll admit the plastic feels a bit thin (but it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy). I ordered a BlackWidow and it should be here either tomorrow or Saturday. (Quick question, UPS says it will be here by tomorrow but the scheduled delivery says its on Saturday?) I'm going to attempt to make an unboxing and review and I'll post it here and on OCN for you guys to see.
