Requesting aid from an artsy fartsy member!
« on: Tue, 14 February 2012, 22:18:32 »
I need a member who can blow up and clean up an image for me. It's all in black and white, and is... a little strange. Looking to put it on a t-shirt, not a keycap, for the record, so I don't need an .svg. This is not necessarily the final version, but I'd appreciate it the same!

Despite similarities to iMav's avatar, it was actually mocked up by someone who has never seen it before. Imagine that! Convergent evolution!

Well...If it's something that's going to be on a shirt, you're most likely going to want a vector anyway.  It's not exactly just a simple thing to do.

I mean somebody can give you a cleaned up raster in that size but that still probably will not look all that great on a T Shirt.

I have no idea what a raster is. Or why it wouldn't look good on a t-shirt. Or how to vectorize it. I'm a bit out of my element with this one. I'm much more comfortable producing/marketing/distributing the shirts. I basically just want it optimized for a t-shirt.

I assume you will be screenprinting it? How big it needs to be on the shirt?

Well I took a stab at it. I made it at 36x23cm which is around typical. I reversed it as it is my usual workflow, so it's emulsion ready. Need tweaks, let me know.

It's gonna be the majority of the front side of a shirt. I gotta get in touch with the shirt printing guy, but I assume it's screenprinting as well. I'll get some details and let you know. Thanks a ton, lysol!

I'm artsy fartsy and that's not art.

The font is all wrong.

I recommend you read this:

I have very little interest in reading a book about fonts right now, but since you bring it up, what font would you prefer?

I agree, I would do some grunged out inky typewriter font, or some graffiti or something... that goes more with the over photocopied photo look. I did make it a little less clean already.
