Not sure if the one I encountered was a BVE-900, but it was at least almost identical to that.
I was surprised to find that it had tactile switches. Roughly the same force as Cherry MX brown, but with a clear, defined tactile point and action as smooth as Topre.
I tried getting one of the keycaps off to see what switches it used, but the cap was on too tight, and I didn't want to spend the money on it considering that it has too few keys to be put into even a 40% keyboard. If anyone were to find a pile of them at once, though, they're worth investigating how Sony managed to get such precisely tactile switches that don't click.
(Granted, even Acer switches feel beautiful when poked with a finger – it's when you sit down to type on them that you realise they bodged the design.)
