Maybe it's too early to ask, but what about other LED color options, will there be limited editions available for those too? Or will the aluminum case be only available for the orange LEDs?

I'm not sure.  Haven't heard of any other colors, but can't say they won't have them.

From the pictures I've seen, the Orange LEDs look really good.  That's saying a lot b/c pictures often don't do the back lit boards justice.

You'd also be really surprised by how good some of the less traditional LED colors look in person.  We were fairly apathetic about the Green LED Ducky Shines at first, but everyone at the office was literally shocked by how good they looked in person.

Highly doubt it. As far as I know, orange LED version is the only choice for this time and no plans or even rumors for other LED color yet...But believe me, orange looks really great!

No idea on these or any other models not listed at the top of the thread.  I literally told Vortex to send me everything they had in stock (not much), but I can say for sure that what they do currently have available is listed above.

As for future models, we're working on getting some of the aluminum cases in various colors, but that's about it that's not listed above.

I'm not looking forward to orange LEDs personally, but swapping LEDs out on Cherry boards is a cakewalk, so I won't mind a bit. Now I need to decide if I have the money for a limited edition or not...

I'll take this opportunity to express my interest for purple LEDs!!!  I'm holding out on buying a pure until I find one with an aluminum case, purple LEDs, and MX reds or blues.

It really is, at least for me. I'm actually more interested in DIY myself: I feel like I get more out of it, though it can certainly be more expensive (iMav's kit doesn't come with switches), but I prefer the case on the pure. That said, I love the idea of plate mount with the poker, but the orange LED's entice me. It's really a hard choice.

If the pure came unassembled, I'd get it for sure no problem. Maybe I'll wait until Aluminium cased keyboards become more popular.

As far as LED's go, though I'm a fan of the colour green, you can't really get a "dark green" LED colour, so as far as the intense (pure) colours go, orange is actually really nice. Also, limited edition, hmm.

Dante: Maybe you can get a plate from someone in the GH GB that doesn't want theirs. I imagine it'd keep the weight about the same and solve the poker flex issue.

That said: I think carrying pures without LED's is an excellent idea. Were I not enraptured with the orange, I'd be interested in one.

Dante: I believe you can turn the LED's off on the pure. Perhaps that's the best solution.

Qtan, please let people with open orders with you know the status of their order and what specific options you propose.  I, for one, am willing to wait for you to be able to complete an order with them so you can send me the keyboard I want.  I just want the status communicated to me and to be kept informed if anything changes.  Thanks.

Communication w/ Vortex is very hit and miss.  Seems like high quality / high demand product w/ too little infrastructure to support it.  Good problem to have for Vortex.  Frustrating for distributors... I'm optimistic and will keep everyone posted.

Their English is actually quite good, it's mostly just getting in touch.

Good news!  It seems like we're likely only a day or two away from the shipment leaving Taiwan.  Will let everyone know as soon as I have a definite ETA.

Also, some other variations may be available and we may be missing others / getting less stock of a specific model.  It looks like I'll likely have to wait till the keyboards are at the store before I can release official inventory.  I think the changes to what we're getting will mostly just add variety - so this is a good thing :)

First of all, sorry for my late reply and lack of updates.  I've been out of the country for the past several days and it was a nightmare posting the few models we have up now.  I'm back at the office tomorrow and I should have all available inventory posted.  I'll do my best to update FB and GH as soon as they're up, but please know that some models have 1 - 3 units only, so if someone's wearing out their F5 key, they may beat you to it.  I want to say the Red MX Poker is the only model we got in that only had 1 unit.  Nice grab irjoe :)  Sorry snooter - I will try very hard to get more.  I don't think they're EOL, so you should be fine.

I'd be keen for a poker with browns (pbt).

Listing created.  So awesome we actually have this exact spec model :)

We'll have (3) units listed as in stock in the next 30 minutes.

On another note:  Does anyone have good pics for the RACE they can link?

Haha! Glad you like it! Remember, you can never have too many mechanical keyboards :)

Just to clarify for anyone reading, sainrub purchased his used KBT Pure from some one else as we do not currently offer any used models.

Ahh man... that's rough.  If it's only 'slightly' used, so you should be fine :)  At least you know you can always buy a new one for about the same price if you want to switch it up.

Any plans to stock the Pure with purple leds, blue mx, and red aluminum case.
If yes when are you expecting such boards?

BTW how much is the shipping to Australia?

There are three modes. Off, on, and "breathing" mode. Toggle between them with Fn + B.

I think the Pure has an extra standoff on the PCB, so it won't flex as much as a poker.

So would most custom cases work with a Pure or is gonna be purely on a case by case basis here?

Haha. Case by case. Funny!

I am using my Pure in a Treble318 case right now, and it was designed for the Poker without the extra mounting standoff. Works great for me!

It helps some with PCB flex in the middle center of the board. The top center still flexes, though. Vortex should have put another mounting standoff between the "6" and "7" keys. That's where the flex is most noticeable now.

The other difference is the 1.75-unit right shift and the tilde "~" key to the right of it. Other than that, the layout is the same. The Fn layer has changed, but if this is your first Vortex, you won't be bothered by that.

Thanks! I don't think that will bother me too much. I think I'll buy the Pure and that should sate my appetite. But as soon as I see a Poker with reds I'll probably jump right on that as well haha.

What we have available, is all posted.

We had about 16 boxes come in with no outer SKUs / labels, so we have to take them out one at a time to figure out what exact layout is being used.  If we run across any 'one-offs' that weren't on the packing invoice, I'll be sure to update you, but I wouldn't count on it.

Go for the white ;)

Getting out of the game to me meant getting out of the constant checking for rare stuff and the like in the classifieds and pairing down all the stuff I have that isn't really being used. Not stepping away from mechanical keyboards in general. Reds were my first board and ever since I saw the Pure with purple LEDs I wanted one with red switches. FYI, they're now out of stock as I purchased the last available one.

I will most likely sell the one Poker I have now once I get the Pure. ;)

I think you are misreading what is being said.  The flexing is not major, you have to apply a decent amount of pressure.  For those of us who are heavy handed, it is a minor issue.  It doesn't ruin the keyboard but it also shouldn't be there.

Not currently.  We started the site off shipping everywhere (206+ countries).  A fraudulent overseas order sneaked through and shipped about a month in. The fraud apparently got the word out and about a week later we had 13 fraudulent overseas orders placed in a 24 hour period.  They were all canceled, but we had to scramble and remove 'ship to' countries like crazy.  We're working on finding a 'cart compatible' solution that will allow us to add most of the countries back (including South Korea) and still prevent the fraudsters, but in the meantime we have to be incredibly careful.  The messed up part is that if some fraud uses a stolen credit card on our site, and we cancel / refund the order and even go out of our way to call the victim to let them know to cancel their card, Visa / MC still charge us a $25 fee for the simple fact that the card was used on our site...

Please note: none of the credit card information was stolen on our site.  CC info stolen from another site or physical location was used on our site in an attempt to purchase keyboards.  We never store CC information and all checkouts are SSL encrypted.

PCB flex is about the same, actually. Even in an aluminum case.

People like the Poker more than the Pure for a couple reasons, basically:
1. Some people don't like backlighting, and most Pures available until now have included backlighting.
1a. Because of the backlighting LEDs, in order to swap the springs and/or stems in a Pure, you have to first desolder all the LEDs before the switch housing can be opened. On the Poker, there are only 7 LEDs to be desoldered for a switch mod.
2. Pure has 1.75-unit right shift and a dedicated ~` key just to the right of that shift. Makes it hard to find snazzy keycap sets that will fit the Pure. Poker has a standard US/ANSI layout.

I like the poker more than the pure because of the function layer. I think that the changes they made to it made it considerably worse. Still hoping that one day I can get a 60% keyboard that's programmable.
Layout: Colemak
Fastest typing speed: 131 WPM on typeracer, 136 WPM on 10fastfingers.
Daily driver: Filco Tenkeyless MX Brown with ergonomically weighted, lubed springs.
Ergo keyboards: Truly Ergonomic, Kinesis Advantage, Ergodox

In reference to the non-led Pures, how many LEDs does it have? I know the Poker has 6 or 7 LEDs for the dip switch modes. I'm looking for a keyboard that will be easy to do switch mods. Therefore having to do minimal soldering is ideal. Also, do you forsee getting any more non-mx black Pokers in?

You show stock of Pure Browns.  Do you  know if the Pure has the same "arrow lock" mode as the poker? And the ability to move the Fn key to the left?

Thanks in advance,

No and Yes.

Just google "kbt pure manual" :)

I did, and Google pointed me to...  the manuals thread on geekhack.org.

According to the notoriously inaccurate KBT manual, the arrow key mode creates an inverted T from Alt, Win, Ctrl & Shift. So you lose Shift_R if you keep it in that mode:

Quote
FN + Space:
  Switching Shift_Right and ↑
  Switching Alt_Right and ←
  Switching Win_Right and ↓
  Switching Ctrl_Right and →

Hopefully that is accurate, and either someone who owns one can try and confirm or deny OR MechanicalKeyboards.com will confirm it before I buy one.

Thanks very much,

I do own one, and the manual is accurate. Not sure what you are viewing, but googling "kbt pure manual" gives me this pdf.

as you can see, you can either lock shift-alt-win-ctrl on the right side to act as arrow keys, or you can modify J K L I to arrow keys by pressing down FN.

Picked up the poker with reds, sorry buddy. I've been checking their websites twice a day, and finally snagged one when I didn't see any pure in reds coming in this batch.
I might get a pure with reds next time they're on sale, and see which i want to keep :P

What site do you go on? I've been looking for a kbt pure orange led with brown cherry mxs

Just an FYI... in the latest 'Interest Check' sent to us by Vortex, brown MX wasn't an option.

We have some coming in on this next shipment, but I'm not sure when we'll be able to get more in the future.

Did the shipment of new Pures and Races (w/ Milks!) come in yet? The Facebook page said today was the day. Not that I'm, y'know, anxious to place an order or anything...
