Built My New Rig

I recently built my new rig.  Thought i would share it here.

ASUS Z77 Sabertooth Motherboard
Geforce GTX 680 (Zotac)
16gb Corsair Vengeance LP 1600 RAM
Corsair Force3 GT 60gb SSD (SSD Cache)
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black HDD (Raided With SSD to Cache)
Corsair H100 Closed Loop Watercooler
Noctua NF F12 FocusFlow Fans on H100
ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Soundcard
Corsair AX 750 Gold PSU w/ White cables
Corsair 600T SE White Case
LG Lightscribe Bluray Multi Drive
26" Doublesight 263n S-IPS Monitor
Noppoo Choc Mini Mech Keyboard
Razer Naga & Deathadder Mice
Altec Lansing 5.1 Surround Sound System

All fans attached to motherboard, fan controlled through ASUS FanXpert 2/Thermal Radar software, set on temp curve.  Basically this thing is dead quiet while no stress is on the system.  Even under full load you can barely hear it.

Dual Sound card setup with xonar and onboard, front panel audio connected to Xonar, Speakers connected to onboard sound.  FPS games I run virtualized 7.1 surround through the Xonar to echo locate, Vent also through headset, everything else through speaker system.

It all went together perfectly, and fired up without a hitch.  Definitely the best looking rig I've ever built.

Had to share it with other geeks who may appreciate it!  Please let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions.

About the Corsair 600T. How big is the case?

23.30" x 10.40" x 20.00"

Its a fairly large case, bigger than midtower, smaller than supertower, but very wide.  Thing was a dream to build in!

I bought the 600T (white) during the first week it was sold from NewEgg. Its the best air-cooling case I've yet used.

I just order my new rig yesterday, 3770k, Samsung 830 128Gb SSD, 8Gb G.Skill low voltage RAM, and a MSI Z77A-GD65. I'll be mixing it with existing parts, GTX570, Corsair 750HX, Fractal R3, a whole bunch of hard drives (~8 internals, with matching drives as external backups)


It should be here hopeful on Friday

Thank you all for the compliments, I spent 4-5 months researching and planning the parts that would go into this build, and it turned out better than I had hoped.  Guild Wars 2, my body is ready...

Ive done a bit, got a stable 4.5oc, but ive since turned it off troubleshooting a BSOD that ive tracked down to Intel HD4000 drivers when the IGPU is enabled with Virtu MVP to boost framerates.  I will go back to 4.5 ghz OC once I start running a game that can benefit from it.  Ivy bridge hates much over 1.3volts, but 4.5 ghz on an ivy bridge is still about equiv to a 5ghz Sandy Bridge oc which is hard to achieve so imo ivy still comes out ahead especially at a lower TDP, combined with the boost to the IGPU which can still be utilized when you have a DGPU when running Virtu MVP acceleration.

They are the corsair sleeved cables you can buy, they had a sale for I believe $69 instead of the usual $89.

How's the 680 holding up?

I just have a small question. Don't want to hijack or steal the topic. I have a single 580 and I'm debating on should I SLI 580 or go single 670 then duel 670 later?

Which games do you play (if not games, what are you looking to do with it), and what size/resolution is your monitor and what kind of monitor?

I play a lot of games; add me on steam acallander. I do graphic and web design. My display 27" crossover led with a 24" extra display

That's hard to say.. to drive games at the highest settings at a monitor resolution for a 27'' monitor, I would say you should try and go SLI. But which card depends on how much you want to spend. I'd say go with a single evga 680 for now and dual later. You can also take advantage of EVGA step up program when new cards come out.

I'd say so, but ultimately up to you. I think the 680 is just a little bit more in price and i believe performs a little better. I saw a review on toms hardware for the 680vs670 a while back.  I currently use a single evga gtx680 on a dell 24'' 1920x1200 and not really having any complaints. 37-41 fps avg on highest possible settings

If you're running a 680 and an OCed 3770k you should be able to just ignore VirtuMVP. The FPS gains are more so designed for lower end systems, as it skips frames that wouldn't render in time and posts it as complete, therefore moving the queue up and creating smoother gameplay. However, the 680 will outperform your monitors easily in basically every title that Virtu works with.

TL;DR: Your system is fast enough to get rid of VirtuMVP and enjoy a high OC instead. Easier to keep stable.
